The article kind of makes it seem that sea of thieves was made for this event but really sea of thieves is a separate game that is just having a collaboration with Disney.
I know right, you would think that the author had done some research before writing this. They have clearly never heard of Sea of Thieves and a quick search would tell them it was an update to a pre-existing game.
