Pete’s Silly Side Show has been home to a mask-free relaxation station as the theme park operates amidst the ongoing pandemic.
However, as Disney World continues its phased reopening, and as they relax the current face mask protocol on property, could they now be gearing up to re-open the character meet and greets at this location?
According to a recent permit filed, which you can view here, Disney is looking to work on the Storybook Circus tent — also known as Pete’s Silly Side Show — inside Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom. The permit is to “provide labor, material and/or electrical for construction”. Though this is very vague, what we do know is that this location was home to a mask-free relaxation station where Guests could remove their masks if needed.
However, now that face masks are no longer required outdoors, Disney World is beginning to remove these mask-free relaxation stations, and therefore, this permit could be relating to that. With this being said, Disney World could be thinking about bringing back a socially distanced meet and greet as the theme parks continue with its phased reopening approach.
At this time, there is no confirmation as to what exactly this permit is for aside from what is listed on the actual document, which again is “provide labor, material and/or electrical for construction”. Inside the Magic will update you as we get information.
