Take it out piece by piece and rebuild it with new technology that doesn’t require the ride to be down too long. Or open up another good ride or land that takes the heat off Everest. That way it can be closed for a longer time if they do not want to rethink the tech.
I like the idea of just turning the lights on. I have been fortunate to take a tour inside the mountain and it is a shame that people don’t get to see what the imagineers did in there. Even when the yeti worked, you didn’t get to see the whole scene.
