As of late, it has felt like Universal Orlando Resort jumped on the fast track to normalcy. The Orlando theme park has been operating under pandemic restrictions since June 2020, and now, we are starting to see a huge push towards returning to a more “pre-pandemic” operating schedule, including looking to hire more Team Members!

As vaccinations continue to roll out worldwide, and new findings are being announced by the CDC, Universal has changed some of their safety procedures in accordance with what they have been told is approved.

For example, the Florida Health Department said temperature checks could phase out, and now, both Universal and Disney World have fully removed them. Universal also followed the CDC’s recommendation of reducing physical distancing to 3 feet from 6 feet. Single rider queues are now open, and theaters are filling every row.

Recently, we reported that Universal hotels as well as Halloween Horror Nights were doing mass hires, and now, it seems Universal Orlando Resort is joining in on the hiring in a big way! Universal has announced that they are hiring 2,000 Team Members this summer to work at Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, as well as Volcano Bay!

The website states:

Positions are available in all areas including the in-house Call Center, Attractions, Aquatics, Food Services, Culinary, Custodial, Warehouse, Operations, Merchandise, Sales and more. Universal Orlando is also hiring additional Lifeguards to support Universal’s Volcano Bay water theme park. In the coming weeks, specific hiring events will be held for these positions.

Considering Universal is planning on hiring so many Team Members this summer, it likely means because they will need the help! Universal continues to hit capacity at their parks nearly every day, and considering Governor DeSantis would allow the park to open to full capacity whenever Universal decides, it seems that this news, in combination with the mass hiring as well as Universal reducing physical distancing, could mean that the current 35% capacity limit will be increasing soon. That being said, that is purely speculation at this point.
