If they have a rule against filming, then why was Theme Park Mikey filming during the attraction?? ??

Theme parks should not be open yet. They are going to be the cause of the 4th wave of Covid in California. As a concerned citizen, it is going to detrimental, catastrophic even, to the health, safety and well-being of everyone in the state with the re-opening of the theme parks. The East Coast and the Mid West have already started with getting their 4th wave of Covid. As the pattern shows, California is only a few weeks away from it’s 4th wave of Covid. Which will be even worse due to the exposure of theme parks being allowed to open. Yes, I do not have to go to one, however, it does not mean that people that choose not to go will not be exposed because of strangers they run into on the street because of that stranger going. The vaccine is not guaranteed to do anything. It may or may not lessen or worsen the symptoms of Covid. Furthermore, the companies producing these vaccines are released from any and all liability from their product. Meaning, if you suffer adverse effects from the vaccine or even death, the company is not responsible in any way for what happens. It is an utter joke. You can very much still contract and transmit Covid after being fully vaccinated. It is negligent of the theme parks to be open right now. I used to be an avid theme park goer and I am highly disappointed in the blatant disregard of human life these theme parks have. If they cared at all about their employees and their guests they would not be open yet. All they seem to care about is that they can be open and making money. It reminds me of a line from Jurassic Park. Now, I’m paraphrasing here, however the gist of it is this, the people were so concerned about if they can and not concerned about if they should. Sound familiar? The theme parks are so concerned that they can re-open right now and are not stopping to think that they should not re-open right now. They claim in articles that they are enforcing social distancing, mask wearing, sanitizing conditions, however that is all for show. Just like a movie, no one sees or knows what happens when the cameras are off. They are not enforcing it as much as they like to make health officials and news reporters think. Again, it’s all a joke. I do want things back to normal, however not in blatant disregard to human life. The vaccine is not a cure all, it will not even prevent you from contracting or transmitting Covid, and we do have the new strains of Covid here. Which are deadlier than the original strain. I guess only time will tell how bad this next wave we are going to get will be.

Thank you so much for your kind words. Mark my words, it’ll happen because people are impatient. The vaccine is a joke and people are going to get even more ill because of it.

Are you a doctor or scientist? Why do you consider the vaccine to be a joke? Do you consider the flu vaccine to be a joke? How about other vaccines? Obviously, it is not a cure all, but science seems to be showing that it is being shown to be helpful in curbing covid. If you feel the theme parks show a blatant disregard for human life, do you feel the same way about grocery stores, restaurants, etc? It sounds like you think any business that is open is a risk to the health and welfare of others. What are you using to determine when it will be “safe” for all of us to resume some sort of “normal” life? Covid will never fully be eradicated just as the flu will never fully be eradicated. So, should we all just sit home being afraid to go outside or interact with anyone?

      2. Not Worried

I AGREE, QUIT WITH YOUR BOOHOO AND JUST GO ON WITH LIFE!!!

    2. Linda

Using your logic, grocery stores and an all other businesses should also be closed. If you don’t believe vaccines work, what measure would you use to gage when the state should reopen or when the pandemic will be officially over? Covid will never fully be eradicated, just like the flu will never be fully eradicated. So, are we all supposed to just sit in our homes waiting for someone to give us the thumbs up to resume a “normal life”?

Theme parks elsewhere in the country have been open nearly a year. They haven’t led to any reported outbreaks. Certainly some people have gotten sick, it would be crazy to think no one has. But there’s been no mass waves of infection associated with the parks. Orange County, Florida, where Disney and Universal are, had lower rates of infection than elsewhere in the state.

Outdoors, distanced, and masked up is minimal risk. Not none, of course, but minimal. It’s the restaurants and bars that should all be closed, where people are crowded together, indoors, with no masks.

Dumbasses like these just make our job harder, absolutely annoying.

If you don’t like the parks being open stay home. I’ve worked through the entire pandemic and enjoy going to the parks on my day off. Stay home and live the way you want and we will live the way we want. Life is to short to hide away.

        EXACTLY!!!

If you were as brave as YOU think you are, you would have used your own name.

      Be quiet.

The Orlando parks have been open for close to a year. We operate safely and have had no issues. Just don’t go to a theme park.

My husband and I have not stopped traveling through oit this Covid crap and we have stayed healthy. We went to Las Vegas In August made several trips to Pigeon Forge, Georgia in November and just got back from Florida where we visited Universal studios and we are just fine. We have both been vaccinated and wore our masks even though they have been proven to be worthless and 6 feet isnt far enough to stop spread of germs. Like everything else our bodies have to develop it’s own antibodies

How about stay at home for the rest of your life and let everyone else that wants to enjoy life enjoy it. It’s not that hard. Just cause you are scared doesn’t mean that you can force everyone else to do what you deem safe. If parks want to open let them, I am glad they are open. If people want to go, they can. If you’re really that scared of this virus just stay at home all day everyday and let the rest of us have fun and get back to work. Most people are actually sick of the closures and would rather have fun cause guess what we can die tomorrow of other reasons and I sure as hell don’t want to fire being stuck at home, I’d want to enjoy my life. Especially with over 99% survival rate. So you stay home if you’re so scared and everyone else can do whatever they want, like enjoy the parks.

(staying ON TOPIC – sometimes it’s hard for a few of you to do this!)

Idiots (or Fools, as Jiminy Cricket referred to them) doing what you never should do at a Theme Park; are the reason we’ve got Signs, Decals, Safety spiel everywhere (to the point I can sit down and ride and jokingly say, “remember when we didn’t need this illustration to demonstrate what you should and shouldn’t do?”)! ?

Secure Your Belongings (aka “No Flash Photography Please!” – Ghost Host). I really appreciate how Team Disney Anaheim has ‘that net’ in front of your seat on the Indiana Jones Ride – that should be standard for every sit-down Ride / Attraction! Granted, I appreciate the ‘free lockers’ you are encouraged to use by Revenge of the Mummy Coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood (isn’t that a nice way of ensuring you don’t lose your personal belongings where it could happen?)

There’s no rule against filming at Universal, just a rule against filming for commercial purposes without prior permission.

As a former Disney operations cast member, I would bet my 401k that there was no miscommunication. The Universal Team Member followed proper procedure for a guest exiting the ride and did an excellent job. These rides all have emergency stops that are automatically triggered when a guest exits the ride vehicle and it is in the Park’s best interest to have multiple team members ensure that everyone is safe. Once that’s a given, we were trained to get all guests off the ride (safely) ASAP, so I expect Universal has a similar process. The magic is ruined a bit, but “Safe D begins with me!!” (That was Disney’s catch phrase for cast member safety for a long time haha. Innuendo!!!)

Are these articles written for 8 year olds? Because they are so preachy, you must be writing to a child.

Completely untrue and false you are totally allowed to take video and pictures on attractions at Universal Studios. They advise you not to but you can.
