Universal Orlando Resort is relaxing health and safety guidelines in accordance with the latest guidance from the CDC. Now, single rider lines appear to be returning to the theme parks!
Here is what you need to know about the return of single rider lines.
After the CDC announced updated guidance for social distancing and other best health and safety practices amid the pandemic, Universal quickly updated the health and safety protocols within its Orlando-based Resort.
Universal has reduced physical distancing markers to 3 feet from 6 feet just a few days after Orange County announced “all settings” are able to do so. The theme parks also removed temperature screenings, but face coverings are still a requirement for Guests and Team Members, as well as hand sanitizer as Guests get on an attraction.
Universal Orlando Resort has stated that “we’re getting closer to normal”, and fans are excited. Today, thanks to The Orlando Informer over on Twitter we see that single rider lines appear to be back inside the theme parks.

The Incredible Hulk Coaster’s single-rider line has reopened for the first time since the parks closed last year.

Why is this significant? Well, Universal has not been offering the single rider line option to Guests as parties have been kept separated on attraction. Now that social distancing rules have been relaxed it appears that Universal is able to fill more spots on the attractions by utilizing single riders.
Guests are required to wear masks while on attractions and take hand sanitizer before they board an attraction at Universal Orlando theme parks.
While the Orlando Informer only noticed and commented on The Hulk, we assume that these guidelines have been updated elsewhere. Inside the Magic will update you as we get information and see single rider lines open on other attractions.
Currently, Universal Studios Florida, Universal’s Islands of Adventure, Volcano Bay, and CityWalk are all open for Guest to enjoy as long as they follow the rules. You can read the current health and safety guidelines for Universal Orlando Resort here.
What other things could be coming next at Universal Orlando Resort?
It is possible that we could see Universal increase capacity at their theme parks, but we will have to see in the coming weeks if that happens.
