They need to find a way to get this ride fully operational on a consistent basis at both parks.

It would be because I have yet to snag a boarding group so I’m hoping to get in tomorrow (Monday). If it’s still down, I have to go back next month where there will be less of a chance of me getting one.

Be at the park EARLY and get inside before they let ppl throughout the entire park. Have your app open for the boarding pass. The moment the announcer speaks, press for the boarding pass.

Rise of the Resistance is the best and most enjoyable ride at Disneyland. Hope they get the technical issues worked out soon so everyone will be able to enjoy this amazing ride .

How can a ride and/or attraction be considered a success … if it doesn’t seem to be operating ? during the entire time a theme park is open for the day? ??‍♂️

Where is the logic in that? Why are Disney Star Wars fans such sheep for not speaking out? How did Chapek get away with calling this ‘state of the art’ ?

      Totally agree! Frustrating and disappointing

It is an impressive ride. But perhaps it would have been wiser to make a simpler ride with higher capacity. It has disappointed a lot of people. Especially one day ticket holders that are not cell phone savvy with the reflexes of a ninja!. Add to that the break downs… Ride might need a major redo. The funniest comment I heard about the ride was from a friend that is a big Disney fan but not a Star Wars fan at all. He said he felt like a cat on a Roomba Robot Vacuum cleaner !

Extremely disappointing. We practiced getting in the queue the day before and actually got in in the morning, but our 2- day park hopper ticket was only good for the pm admission to Disneyland. Then they shut it down the second day all day

You dont have to be inside the park to get a pass for this ride. Open your app at 6:50 am and have the virtual queue open and ready to join group…keep refreshing until it hits 7am, that’s when the first queue opens. We got a boarding pass all days we were there. If you miss the first one at 7 they have another at 12…you have to be on the app and ready at that time or else it gets full within minutes.

Let’s talk about the real issue here…having to get in queue for a ride in the first place. Everyone that purchases a ticket into Disneyland should have access to any ride inside that park period. Disney keeps adding more rides to this queue, it will get to a point where we won’t be able to enjoy the park how we want to enjoy it because we are forced to this schedule to ride. At the same time we have to understand that sometimes rides have malfunctions and need work to operate properly, that’s just part of normal operation. We just got back from Disneyland and the greatest disappointment for us was some of the people who worked there. Having to be back at work seemed to have them upset and less than friendly or up to that “Disney” employee standard. They were all more worried about if we had our masks on correctly or if we were standing on the proper 6ft line. There were some very nice Disney employees doing a fabulous job, but most were very rude and not happy to be there.

I agree with you. From the perspective of a WDW person, things were much better before everyone was forced to become a Type A smartphone operator. Everyone got in one line at a ride and the wait was what it was. We got smart and would be there at rope drop. We knew what sequence of “best” rides to go on in the first 60 to 90 minutes that would fill up the quickest. Then one could relax, stop for snacks, etc., and ride the second and third tier attractions or the fast loaders. I think the fast pass system is a variation on the airlines and how they overbook. Disney guarantees you a few rides each day, and it lets them cram the parks with more people than ride capacity. It’s really sad.

We had 3 day park hopper tickets. So we got to go into each park everyday. My daughters favorite ride is Cars so we rode that ride one day first. She really wanted to ride this ride at night just because it’s a little bit different experience. So on our second day we went back into the California side after dinner and went and stood in line which was pretty long for over an hour. We were ensured that if we were in a line for a ride before 9pm we could ride. We got about midway through the line after waiting for over an hour and they announced that the ride was not working but they were trying to start it back up. It was about 845 then so we waited because we had already invested our night in this line. So we waited 15 more minutes and then they told us we had to get out of line the ride was closed for the night. We were disappointed. I asked the park operations lady if they could offer any type of fastpass where we could come back the next day and ride and she said no, go talk to Guest services if you want. She was not friendly or apologetic or anything. So we spent our disney night in a line only to be shut down and then went back to our hotel. Our mistake was we tried again the next night after dinner….when the exact same thing happened at the same time of night…which is no coincidence…the only thing we did differently was get out of line early so we could jump into another line before closing. Not only did this happen on this ride but other rides as well were being stopped midway through to tell people to wear their masks properly. They also closed down Guardians of the Galaxy everyday we were there at 1:30pm which was not on the list of closures when we purchased tickets. Disney needs to get it together, especially when people are paying as much as they are to be there…this was a huge expense for our family and my daughters gifts for being 4.0 students. We had a good time but we were a little disappointed.

The article was about the Star Wars attraction. Not about your personal experiences on an attraction that had no bearing on the article at hand. Sheesh!!! Another “Karen” after her 15 mins

Apparently you are a rich ass that has no children and you can’t understand why it’s like to have to work really hard for your money to have Disney not have all rides up and running is Not acceptable.
I have to plan and save for a vacation. And it sounds like this person have worked really hard to maintain a 4.0 GPA which isn’t always easy so who’s the Karen go look at yourself in the mirror your really a ass.

Thank you for your story. I know how hard it is to get excited about a rideable and see it not operating. Honestly I am still a believer in just standing for a ride and waiting it stinks but that way I know I will get on it

Thank you for sharing your experience. I only know one person who has been back and it was on May 30 when ROTR shut down for the entire day. He had a One Day ticket and he was pissed. Isn’t the Park still doing the 25% capacity thing right now? No excuse to be shutting down rides every day like clockwork. Makes me wonder how it’s all going to play out come June 15. I’m sure you made sure your lovely girls had a lot of fun despite the hiccups.
