I think both these ideas are great (although I like the idea of a Raya Rider on this location most). We rarely ever even ride Kali anymore… partly bc getting that wet in the middle of a theme park day is kinda uncomfortable but, even more, because three ride is just not that interesting. A new Disney re-theme could definitely entice me to ride again!
To be honest an IP change to Kali River Rapids makes little sense. The story, while not being completely in your face, is about the disruption of nature and how humanity must coexist with it instead of destroying it for resources. This is very important to the overall message of Animal Kingdom being the intrinsic value of nature. Moana and Raya don’t highlight that focus well.
