My 1st visit to DisneyWorld in 1982 I stayed at the Travel Lodge at Lake Buena Vista looking out my window I saw the Buena Vista Palace under construction. In 1985 I stayed a week at the Buena Vista Palace that was the best week ever! Today I still remember the memories. It’s sad to see what’s happening to the employees that has been laid off and to see what is happening to others in service industry and other resorts and hotels in the Orlando area.

I had a reservation for March of 2020 at one of the hilton hotels on the Disney property. Hilton called me up 2 weeks before our trip and cancelled our hotel stay. It’s been 13 months and they still refuse to refund my money from there cancellation! With customer service like that I can see why they’re having issues. I know for me, the Hilton chain lost a customer FOR LIFE! We will never stay in another Hilton hotel again.

  2. Stayed here last month. Wouldn’t recommend until someone fixes the elevators. You can’t restrict the capacity to their level and run only half the elevators. Upwards of 30 minutes at times doesn’t work with the limited shuttle service.

  3. The Palace is our go to place for Orlando. We have stayed there 7 times 6 in 3 yrs spring and fall of 17,18 and 19. The key is too stay in an Island room or suite, avoid the towers that’s where all the groups and business folks stay all the conference rooms are there. I agree with the elevator situation in the towers, bad even prior to covid. The vibe between the tower and Island is night and day. The pool complex 2 pools and a lazy river are on the island, seems to me the tower folks don’t flock to the pool it does not get crazy crowded. The pool bar and grill called Shades is awesome lots of space big bar signature drinks are great and the food is good. The staff is very good friendly helpful, they really want you to enjoy yourself. We missed out in 2020 they closed our booking was canceled we wouldn’t have gone anyway. Hope to go back in 2021 things r up in the air but I’ll book just in case can always cancel. Good Tip book thru mousesavers good rate plus free self parking that’s a good deal since parking is $22 per day $26 valet. Free breakfast if Hilton Honor gold or diamond member. You get automatic gold status with hilton amex. I sound like I’m selling something but honestly I have no connection to any of these companies. Enjoy the Palace!!!.

This hotel struggles because it’s horrible. Parking is a nightmare. Staff is horrible. Elevators are a disaster. Even in good times this was one to avoid

It does not sound like it’s going to get better with less employees either. Now is the time to bring on the employees and make the service outstanding for the guest who do stay.

We go to Disney almost once a year. This year we decided to stay in the Disney Springs area and considered this hotel. We ended up skipping it and staying elsewhere because the hotel fee is exorbitant. $36 a day on top of $22 a day parking is not justifiable.

Put pressure on Disney to do away with masks and we’ll be staying there this summer. If not, say goodbye to more and more businesses…

Smh. That thought is why we are still in this situation.

Families want a great hotel and economical. This hotel is extremely pricey. If they met the rate to accommodate the tourist allowing them to stay more days with a better rate, potentially it can get out of its jam. Have running monthly specially sto at track more customers.

The Palace is one of our favorite hotels. We were supposed to stay there in September, but unfortunately the hotel wasn’t ready to reopen until October. We went to Florida in January and was able to stay at The Palace. It was just sad that it seemed very few people were staying at the hotel. We like to stay in a room right off the lobby, so we never have an issue with elevators. Their pools or fantastic especially the lazy River. We still had a fantastic time and because the restaurants weren’t open, we just walked across the street to Disney Springs to dine. At this time many services have been cut nit only at The Palace, but all other hotels. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon.

I don’t know…maybe it’s the $35/day resort fee PLUS $22/day parking fee? I know almost all hotels near Disney are now starting to charge resort fees. Get rid of these fees and MAYBE you’ll get more bookings!
