The short answer. Yes they are too expensive.

However, given the incredible demand there is going to be I think fans should be glad they aren’t pricing every single day at $154 this Spring. I was pleasantly surprised to see so many Tier 4 and Tier 3 days they’re going to make available.

    1. Carrie

I’m sorry it is not a reasonable price. When you have 2 adults and two children for one day not even counting food you are talking about 600.00 .

      1. Sylvia Cobar

Yes especially when you have kids

      2. Michelle

Let’s talk more about the prices of food and drinks there…..

        1. Lance

How do you define “too expensive”.
They’re probably not priced high enough.

          1. Juliet

Its too high consider there will be many attractions that will be closed. I’m paying for access like before covid for everything and i’ll be luck to have access to half of it

        2. albert caballero

What about it $3.50 banana that’s what I paid the last time I was there pre pandemic

        3. Lance B

I always leave the park to eat. 10 minute walk to pretty reasonably priced food just outside the gates.

      3. DEBRA RUSOVICK

My daughter has 5 children. I’m sure she feels your pain also.

      4. Esprit D Mendoza

Im glad I took my kids in January 2020 right before covid started… TOO EXPENSIVE

      5. KenG

I do agree with you however that can be said of every major themepark or resort.
Heck, Legoland in Carlsbad was up to over $100-$120 depending if you included the water park back in 2019 and their express line passes ranged from $25 to a whopping $100. And going to an NBA game could be $100s for a ticket when you could go and that’s for maybe 3 hours.

    2. Derek

I would prefer that they raised the price to $300 per ticket to keep the riffraff away. That would make the experience so much better

      1. BCM

That’s ridiculous and rude. Anyone who can afford these prices deserve to be there. Now there might be people who got in free or almost free because they are a FL resident, but changing the cost of the tickets wouldn’t change that.

        1. Cynthia Hunt

Florida residents are not almost free…just an FYI

        2. SG

As a FL resident and annual pass holder we have never gotten in free! We have to go 5 times a month to make it worth the AP rates. AND even if we bring our own lunch we still spend on average $100 for the two of us. Disney is too expensive but we are Disney addicts!

      2. Holly Rigsby

Way too expensive for our family… Our kods would love to go but tickets are $600. Plus traveling there let alone hotel fairs ?

      3. Bob

So people who can’t afford $300 a day you consider riff raff? You’re an elitist little c*nt aren’t you?

      4. Steve

        You’re an idiot.

      5. DEBRA RUSOVICK

So you are calling anyone with a modest or low income riffraff? That is so rude! I’m a widow who used to be a season ticket holder. Since my husband passed, my income is cut in half and I can’t afford to go. Does that make me riffraff? I think not!!!

      6. Mickeba

I’d like to see the wealthy riff raff go away.

      7. Drake

I agree. And a huge fee for strollers.

      8. danirose6

I think that the only problem is that not a lot of family’s who don’t have as much money as others could ever go then. I haven’t been to Disney since I was 12 years old. And my family hasn’t been in about 8 years because of the high prices. That’s the only thing I kinda hate about Disney. It’s only for the people with more money, and lots of families who have low income can never go since they don’t have the money for the tickets. And the food is so expensive.

      9. Silvia Meraz

This was such a bogus comment. Get over yourself ?

      10. Marcus

Look bro riff raft got more money than a lot of you proper mfs if I pay 250$ for a ticket I should be able to go in there and do whatever I want bro

      11. Robert

Your crazy .You must not have any children. Since you want the price so high would you like to pay for me and my family since you have it like that.

      12. Jon doe

The riffraff are the ones with money.

    3. Mary McCarty

I think they are incredible overpriced. It doesn’t end at check-in. 10.50 for a hot dog is shameful. NOT the happiest POE.

    4. Notyuenora

A resounding yes. Disney acts as if it’s ignoring the multiple request to make ticket prices fair and equitable.

    5. Norma

Yes they are Especially when we 3 to 4 kids. Hotel, food, souvenirs, gas.. way to expensive. I keep 3 of my grandchildren which were in foster homes. They’d like to go but who can afford it.

      1. Brendan Donahue

There’s no place like it ! Love disney world ! Fans are diehards (like me) and will pay whatever they ask…plus winters suck in new england and I know you (FL residents) guys hate it when we swarm you guys in Feb but it’s so awesome to escape the shitty weather. Obviously the prices are stupid but it’s so awesome to take your kids their when there little. Great times ?
I love u disney ! (But only in winter…FL summer heat is for the birds)

    6. Greg

Honestly it’s sad a company so wealthy is still trying to squeeze every scent from the working class… shameful

  2. Randy Sanchez

I used to love going to Disneyland but prices are out of control. I once spent over $1800 for a family 8 and this was military discount. Enjoyed my time there but I had a re-enlistment bonus that help paid for it. The average person especially at this time cannot afford it. I rather go to Knotts or universal studios a lost cheaper even if you’re out of town and have to rent a motel.

    1. John

They through some people out who paid less and discriminate

    2. Sasha

      Boycott Disney!

  3. A luxury price yes. I don’t think Walt would be about prices that drive his vision of the park for enjoyment, and would’ve focused on families being able to enjoy at a reasonable cost and not be broke for a day visit or pass to park, eat and buy a memorable souvenir.

    1. Mary Niemann

Its nice place to visit but they dont understand not everyone ca afford it.Especially now.My husband and son r disabled so its hard for us to go even though we wish we could.

      1. JJ

Disney has a program for disabled individuals. If the condition is of mental development they can even get it free. Contact Disney directly

        1. JackJack

I worked for Disneyland for almost 5 years and was fired because I have ADHD. If Walt was here his dream would be alive. The current management only think of how much money they can rip off the public Management does not care about the $10 per hour employees but love to line their pockets. The paying public needs to boycott Disney and just stay away. No one needs to rip off the public for their own gratification. It is not right what they do with prices. Walt would agree with me.

      2. carmen rodriguez

I remember when my kids were 5 & 7 tickets were like $50.00 ( prices have risen ) so much I’ll be able to go again that’s insane .

  4. Kim k

All you broke asses stay home ! I’m going to DISNEYLAND ?

    1. Old enough to remember E COUPONS (not tickets) and $ 5.75 admission price, Uncle Walt’s Magic Kingdom is no place for me anymore. Not my Disneyland anymore….not from lack of funds

      1. JT

Otto …. Truer words have NEVER been spoken ….. Plasticville …… is NO LONGER A PLACE for anyone above the IQ of a kumquat ..

      2. Christine Courtney

Went to Disneyland when it first opened in 1955, ticket books! Walt Disney was never about money, prices have been too high for many years! With all the millions of people going through Disneyland each day prior to pandemic alot of money is being made!!

        1. Debra Morrison

You are correct, Walt Disney wasn’t about money when he opened Disneyland but he sure made a lot of it on his wonderfully creative imagination! And why not? It was his idea! But now it’s a corporate machine and as long as people are WILLING to pay whatever price they ask it will continue to go up! Disney let’s the cost of a ticket control attendance at the Park instead of closing the gates for maximum capacity! That is actually part of their strategy….at what price point will the cost limit attendance. Can you imagine what attendance would be like if tickets were affordable to the majority of the local population?!Disneyland is a wonderful place if you can afford it but if you can’t there are many other affordable places to visit…it’s your choice!

      3. Jack

Agree wholeheartedly! There was a time when I was willing to pay through the nose for a day at Disneyland, but not anymore. The last few times I’ve been in recent years, I leave feeling tired, annoyed, and depressed that I just dropped $1,000 to be treated like cattle all day. It just doesn’t have the charm it had in the good old days. Crowded, disorganized, and the staff aren’t even friendly anymore. There are just so many better things I can do with my money and my family’s time.

    2. Hahahaha I LOL at this… If I lived in SOCAL I’d be right there with you. I love crowd control more park for me and my family. We go once a year… so we SAVE and then go all out.

      1. Yes, Disneyland has gotten way too expensive! There are other ways to crowd control…if COVID hasn’t already showed the public how by now, then Crowds will always be a problem. Further, Disney may have lost lots of money because of closures, but has not lost really not much in sales of merchandise, food stuffs, videos, movies on demand…and the list goes on and on. If one likes standing in long lines just to take pictures in Disneyland to post on social media, those then are some expensive pictures…The money spent pre-covid to go to Disneyland was more expensive for 3 days for my family than a week in Japan for my daughter (that including room and food) I love Disneyland, but now I will love it through a different lens…not my pocketbook.

    3. Annoyed

Your rude and apparently have never struggled financially nor do you have kids. And not to assume, but you must me from a family that has always been well off and able to do what they wanted whenever. Until you have worked your butt off to support a family in a limited income can you call people broke. Because sorting ones family and wanting to then take them on a nice vacation that doesn’t cost half your monthly rent is quite understandable.

      1. Rpcouv

If I may ask do you believe every person has the right to whatever they want. While definitely not said in a right way I actually agree with his point of willing to pay more for a better experience in the last 5 years I have hone to Disneyland 2 times and once to Hollywood Studios. When I went to Hollywood studios 3 weeks ago it was a much better experience than the two Disneyland trips no lines over an hour and we were able to do everything in the park multiple times. I know Disney land is bigger but I would say I got to do more than twice as many rides than usual if you’re planning a trip now is the time to do it because even though it’s a little more than tickets were before the pandemic you will probably get to do way more than even 2 days before.

    4. ???
I’m staying home because my ass is literally broke and after this it will be as well, figuratively! All I can do is ??? about it.

      1. Hehe

Just because of the pay gap between Executive and Workers I would hope it would burn to the ground. Then the workers would get job re allocation assistance with more quality instead of letting the likes of the Walton family eat shite tar tar.

        1. Charlotte

I live in Florida i have 5 kids you think my kids been to the parks no i cant affort that the prices are too crazy

    5. Steve

      Shut up Karen

      1. Lmfao

Lol, if people are complaining about how hard the pandemic has been on their finances, they shouldn’t even be thinking about a trip to Disneyland let alone complain about a business practicing their right to name prices. It’s a simple example of supply and demand. There’s not enough supply to go around due to the set crowd capacities. Ticket prices have to go up in order for the park to be running in the first place. So pay the man or shut up and don’t go. ???

      2. Liz

Just returned from disney world. My husband and I took our grandson and granddaughter ages 7&3. We spent five days there and actually got an amazing deal with buying three days of passes and getting two days free. Disney allows you to bring in drinks and snacks so we saved a ton by doing that. Still indulged in different things , however we all know that kids say they are thirsty or hungry every two seconds so the snacks and sugar free drink mixes were a huge money saver. We also stayed at a value resort and found excellent affordable flights.

    6. Bill Carter

It’s not about being ‘broke’. It’s about value for money, which these parks definitely aren’t!

  5. KevinD

We don’t mind the price but they should keep the limit of people down. You pay a luxury price and it ends up being anything but luxurious, with lines so long you are only able to ride a few rides while you are there, that’s the crime. When people pay it should be an enjoyable day an hour plus in one line should not be considered luxurious or acceptable.

    1. Billy

You’re making a great point…Even though I couldn’t go very often, I would be way more likely to consider going if I wasn’t running around half the day or more just to get a pass to wait in an hour long line for a 3 minute ride. The crowding is out of control.

      1. MsSol

Disney prices have skyrocketed and unfortunately, there are people who would pay to go. I hung on to my passes for as long as I could because both my daughter and I love Disney and the fact that we could visit any day/time. Now with the pandemic, things have become more difficult for me. I have other things that are more important so if we can afford to go, we will.

      2. John

Disney is definitely too expensive. Especially if you going to have their Gestapo enforcing wearing flare and half the park is closed. On a regular day it is too expensive, but during this time they should lower prices because you are getting less in return. I understand that there is overcrowding, but price gouging is not the answer and the overcrowding happened when Disney allowed monthly payments for their APs. As for all of the Ass wipes thinking prices should be raised for your own self indulgence makes you a POS. The parks should be reasonable for the average person and family to go.

        1. Jose

define average person for all of us

    2. Kelly V

I absolutely agree with you. It didn’t used to get this crowded except maybe at the height of summer. As a teen back in the late 80’s/early 90’s, we went every Thanksgiving and it was nice. Less than 50% capacity. Very short lines. Lots of fun.

      I miss those days.

Luxury prices should not equal steerage crush.

      1. Kathy

I think it has got out of hand on the price. Many families can not afford the cost. There should be a big discount for residents.

        1. Rpcouv

That’s stupid and a dumb mentality if someone is paying over a thousand dollars in travel expenses they shouldn’t have to experience a more crowded park because even the tickets are cheaper for someone with more access. I want season passes to dissapear so much maybe then I would actually go again.

      2. Jack

Yeah … it used to be nice to visit during off-peak times … now it’s always insanely crowded … even in like mid-October or February.

    3. Fh

It’s hard to reduce lines when social distancing is required. We were lucky enough to go to Disney world this past month but even with Capacity limits set at 35% lines were still about an hour long because most rides you road without anyone but your immediate family or several rows in-between. So you definitely feel the added space walking around, eating etc. But lines are still an issue unfortunately.

  6. Frank

⚠️ Hello Class-System like it or Not ⚠️?⚡️

    1. JGH

Disney is a commodity sold by a company that can set the prices however they like. Reasonably priced tickets are not an entitlement or right. Maybe now the higher prices will do what they were intended to do, control crowds.

  7. Geri M.

Even though I love Disneyland, in recent years, the park’s owners have proven, time and time again, that it’s all about the money. This isn’t Uncle Walt’s park anymore. That standard and ethic is gone and has been for some time. It’s all about price-gouging and profit per square foot. The Happiest Place on Earth is also the most greedy.

The Disney Corporation has priced its Southern California park out of the market before. I imagine it’ll happen again. Then, they’ll create an offer to entice park patrons to return. It’s their M.O.

In the meantime, there is no shortage of affordable things to do in SoCal, for those who wish to venture out.

Personally, I think it’s too soon and don’t feel it’s safe yet to attend amusement parks. Let me rephrase that, I know it’s not.

Although Walt Disney World has been in operation for some time during the pandemic, the park has not reported the number of COVID cases among cast members (park employees). As the old saying goes, “I heard it through the grapevine.” And from a reliable source.

So, for me anyway, it doesn’t matter what Disneyland charges during reopening. I won’t be returning for a while yet. I’m not as addicted as some fans and do not feel it’s worth risking my health.

  8. Dorothy Lewis

I have been going to DLand since the 50s when you bought a ticket book..loved those E-Tickets. I started taking my grandson in the 90s when he was 2. Premium passes with NO blackout days, including parking, were $99.00 each. We went several times a month. We stopped going about 8 years ago when you had to take out a small loan just to be able to afford to go; even day passes were exorbitant. I miss going, especially around the holidays, but refuse to cave to their corporate greed. The magic is no longer there.

  9. MaryW

I have been going to Disneyland since December 15, 1956. I was 16 months old (have a picture to prove it)☺️ I am blessed that I can afford to go back. Having been an AP, I am disappointed that this option was discontinued and am hoping Disney will implement a new AP program. I am excited to return to the Happiest Place on Earth❤️

    1. GaryM

And all this is why I’m staying home and going to DollyWood

  10. Kim

The Disney parks are full of fun and family memories. It is becoming increasingly difficult to visit due to the high prices for tickets, meals and hotel stays. My family used to go every summer and several times we visited in October for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. It’s been three years since we went to Disneyland and even longer since we saw Walt Disney World. Too expensive. We live in Tennessee.

  11. Blu

It’s expected but still absurd – this is like charging $30 for a movie ticket during the great depression – Disney is an evil company and they’ll continue as long as Psycho disney fans keep being obsessive socially awkward freaks

    1. Traci Frost

So true. Its liberals making it worse

      1. Julie S

It is a luxery so I am okay with the higher prices if everyone has to pay equally and it keeps the crowds down so it is a luxery to be there. I also don’t think they should lower the standards for cast members appearances. Maybe pay upper management less and workers more so you don’t have to lower the standards

    2. mike yoder

It’s an amusement park not food or gas. This is a luxury for affluent families and people are treating it like Disney is kicking them out of their homes.

    3. Lance M

Your analogy makes no sense. First $30 during the great depression would be roughly $450 today. And a movie is less than 2 hours (in most cases) and it is hit or miss whether it will be any good.

      1. Dusty

I think it would be more reasonable if they charged less than what Disney World costs. Disneyland is smaller and has fewer rides at each park but is going to charge the same or more for tickets? That’s just ridiculous.

  12. Andrew

As long as they sell out they aren’t expensive enough.

    1. Cece

I used to love going to Disneyland but now with the price for admission for a 1-day pass $154 is way too expensive. It takes the majic and fun out of it!

      1. Andrew

Then don’t go. It’s as easy as that, if you don’t find value in the price of admission then don’t buy a ticket. I would gladly pay more than the current prices if I knew less people would be there.

      2. Jane

As a native from SoCal that loves Disney, I’m unfortunately on the east coast now and going to d’world this summer. It is nowhere near as nice. Anyone else that has also been to both think it’s possible to enjoy more than one of the Florida parks in one day?

        1. J

I went to Disney World last year in August during COVID, and the way they handled things was great. I don’t see why Disneyland can’t do the same, when not a single case was found in Walt Disney World.

  13. Fred52

Why pay ridicules prices to go see Latino land? Disney is so out of control and greedy. They ruined Disneyland when they started annual passes=equals always way too crowded and way too many locals. The worst of it now is all their stupid pc crap like having women chase pirates and getting rid of the redhead as a wench and getting rid of splash mountain to appease some blm jerks….way too much diversity crap..spend your money elsewhere

    1. Kelly V

Wow. How awful for you that people care about progressing forward as a species.

Welcome to the 21st century. Buckle up.

    2. Lance M

Wow, you really are a racist. Can I ask you why you are a racist? I’m actually serious here as I can not fathom why any hates people simply because of their race when there are so many real reason to hate others.

      1. Dementia Joe

He should be sent to a re-education camp until he thinks and talks like the rest of us, right Comrade Lance?

  14. Kathleen

Yes, too expensive. Especially right now. It seems like Disney could at least cut some pricing slack for awhile. Everyone knows that people are going to be flocking back. Come on Disney, show some love to your peeps!

    1. Andrew

That’s exactly the point, why would they “cut some pricing slack” when they are linked in the number of people they can allow in and they know visitors will be “flocking back”. The tickets are going to sell out pretty much regardless of pricing, there is no reason to lower the price and in fact the limited nature of ticket availability should drive the prices higher.

  15. Traci Frost

Paying to wear a face diaper all day? No thanks.
I’ll go when Disneyland have gotten hold of their senses!

    1. David Zelonis

That face diaper keeps you alive idiot.

      1. P

Waaay to expensive; plus the cost of food?
That $$$ could be spent on everyday things. Food…bills.
But hey…u can afford it then go. But not me

      2. Cindy Rella

Those face diapers did nothing for me. I didn’t wear them except on my wrist when I went into stores. I didn’t get covid during this past year and I’m a senior and at risk. BUT I think I had it before it got popular so maybe I was immune. Those I know who had it, spent a miserable 2 weeks, just like a normal flu. And THEY ALL SURVIVED. I also won’t be getting the ‘vaccine’. Now, I agree with Traci – not going to DL if I have to wear a mask. We did that at DW and I hated it. Pics with masks? Ridiculous. So, save your political post and name calling for another time and place.

  16. Tim Worth

Disney is to expensive now ! I’m glad we have got to visit in the past many times so won’t be going back probably ever again. And tommorow land looks like yesterday land. There is not much new there its old washed up park ! Bye Mickey

  17. Michael Adashefski

Disney’s tickets have been too expensive for years. Every year they do a price increase like they have a right to do it and they complain when their attendance goes down. They don’t realize that higher ticket prices will attract less people to go to the parks. If they kept their prices down then more people would go there and have a much better time.

    1. Ethan

Except their attendance doesn’t go down.

    2. Joe

This has to be the dumbest post on this thread. The park is constantly full, no matter how much they raise their prices. The reason they HAVE to raise the prices is, that if they didn’t, the park would be at CAPACITY every single day. Could you imagine, being a family of 5, flew in from out of state, taking your kids to Disneyland, and then you go to the park, and because you weren’t there at rope drop, the park was at capacity? You don’t get to stay an extra day longer, your hotel is only for 5 nights. You have to get back to work. So every day, you have to try to get there early enough to make sure you can get inside because of the huge crowds. Then once inside, you can’t leave. And you will at most get to ride 2 or 3 rides because EVERY attraction will have a 2 hour wait or longer. You think people complain now? People would be up in arms about spending money to go to Disneyland, not being able to get in, and then when they COULD get in, not being able to enjoy the park because it was jam packed.

  18. Ronnie

As a past employee and yearly pass holder…
just too much for a family and senior citizens…an elite price for a select few.

  19. Donna M Saba

155.00 is a lot..but, so was 110.00 and whatever it was before that…but we all still wanna go..lol..what I’m waiting for when it opens to everyone not just cali residents..I get it..they wanna see how it goes with locals..I think they should keep it restricted to U.S. citizens anyway!! ? shorter lines the better..lol

  20. Rich

It might be billed as the happiest place on earth, But definitely one of the most expensive. I or family will not be going to any of their parks!!!!

  21. Chelsey

I think it’s outrageous, Disneyland obviously doesn’t care and is not making any exceptions for anyone.

  22. lisa stevens

really sad walt disney would be ashamed !!! Disneyland is supposed to b a family place .. u shouldn’t have to take out a loan just to take your family for fun!! shakin my head disney !! pull your head out of rich peoples asses and think of the children!!!

  23. Jean parker

For seniors on very limited income these prices are way to high…we might be older but so.e of us are true life long disney lovers….makes us enjoy life alittle more to go to the happiest place on earth..make it more affordable please

  24. Jill

Disneyland is expensive. However, if you can’t pay for necessities like your home and have no job why would you even consider spending money on Disneyland. I just pray they don’t bring back annual passports.

  25. Sheetrockero

I’m just glad they’ll be opening up soon! We moved back to SoCal last August and I can’t wait to take my kids. I had a pass growing up, but we haven’t been for 8 years. Not so much because of the prices, but more because of the crowds since we could only go during school breaks. I think it makes sense that DLand is charging more for peak days and less for slow days, because it will help smooth demand. Yes the prices are high, but how would you ever get into the park if they only charged $50? Additionally, the higher prices allow Disney to reinvest in the parks and offer things like Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge and Avenger’s Campus. Imagineers and construction workers don’t offer their services for free. I’ve been to some cheap theme parks in other parts of the country that haven’t been updated since the 60’s. You get what you pay for.

Short hours, No fireworks, can’t get in to Rise of the Resistance, half of the restaurants and rides are down, pay to park and still have to pay $154.00. I’m amazed they don’t charge you to go to the bathroom.Too expensive for a normal working person to pay for! And that’s not including hotel, transportation and food.

    1. Wiz

They do charge you when you go to the bathroom. You have to pay with your PeePal card to go!

  27. Kelly

The prices are what I expected, and no… they’re not too much. They’ve had no income for a year. They’re trying to get people back to work. They can only sell 15% of their capacity. And Disneyland is still a full day if entertainment for a similar price as a Broadway show or NFL game. This is the cost of high end entertainment. Don’t like it? No worries, there’s always Knott’s, Universal, 6 Flags, Legoland, Sea World, etc. Still rather go to Disney? Save up. I’m not a high earner by anyone’s definition, I still put a little aside every month for fun things to do—like Disney.

    1. Billy

Those are regular prices, Not high simply because of the small initial crowds. When it’s 100% occupancy, the price will not go down(it will likely go up substantially by Jan 1 2022. The current price is right where it’s been before March 2020.

  28. Not the mama

Disneyland isn’t your mommy. It’s a business and they should charge whatever it is they want to charge. In the end my guess is the market will determine the price.

  29. Laurie LyonDiaz

I think the prices are ridiculous! If the company executives did not have such outrageous salaries the prices would be a lot less. I live about 3.5 miles from Disneyland but I won’t be going any time soon.

  30. Shirley

I have enough to live, not hurting but I could never save enough to take my family. I wish the prices were better. I think $100 for an adult should be a cap.

  31. Kelly V

We have multi-day, military park-hopper passes from last year that Disney was kind enough to honor and extend the expiration date a year. We’re going on May 10th and then 3 more times in the Fall.

After that, we’ll probably only go once a year. While we can still afford it, we’d rather save that money to travel to places we’ve never been.

I grew up with Disneyland but a few cities away. It has a part of my heart. However, I’m almost 50, and my childlike enthusiasm for visiting the parks has waned a bit due to crushing crowds.

    1. BCM

That’s ridiculous and rude. Anyone who can afford these prices deserve to be there. Now there might be people who got in free or almost free because they are a FL resident, but changing the cost of the tickets wouldn’t change that.

  32. Ben

Lmao. 154 for short ass hours, no fireworks, and a bunch of other stuff closed. Y’all are truly suckers paying full price during this time. I get if everything was available. I’ll wait. LOL at the AP holders as well. They really screwed you guys over.

  33. honest observer

Disneyland has been closed for a year. Disney parks lost 5 billion dollars in April -June 2020 alone. Since Disney doesn’t separate out revenue and profits by parks on its 10k, its impossible to say how much of that was Disneyland v other parks. But it is safe to say that they lost billions of dollars in revenue and likely a billion or more in profit. So, if you want Disneyland to stay around they are going to have to make that up somewhere, especially with limited capacity. Does it suck for the average person to pay $600 per family of 4? Yes. Would Disney prefer to be able to let more people in for less? Probably. Could they charge more based on demand for the food festival a couple of weeks ago? Absolutely. I think the world is a better place with Disneyland, am happy that at least some cast members get to go back to work, and think that calling Disney evil for their price structure is asinine. They managed to hold to their pre-pandemic tiers, which given all that has happened, seem pretty generous to me.

  34. TommyD

    Eff Disney anymore
… they have always been overpriced yet I still loved going to the parks and resorts… but now they’re deep into the whole politically correct/cancel culture nonsense on top of that… I’ll never knowingly add another cent to their bottom line.

  35. BarnCat

I remember being able to go whenever I wanted and spend $30 to get in the gate. Yes, it was crowded, but as a friend (and long-time pass holder) said, it is way too expensive and way too crowded to bother. You can’t enjoy the visit. This from a family who worked there.

The reality is, the park is too small for the number of people who want to visit and that doesn’t count those who feel the ‘need’ to be there at the drop of a hat. Top all of that off with a $100+ entrance fee and be expected to pay for parking and food, nope. No more.

  36. BarnCat

A whole day of entertainment? How much time will be spent standing in line waiting to get on a ride? I’ve seen the wait times over an hour, so that is far less time to actually enjoy the park and more time to stay in line.

  37. Mary

They have to pay for their Star Wars debacle. Then they bring in booze. I pitty kids whose parents need to booze it up even at disneyland. I know it was already there, but harder to get. Then they throw smokers and vapes out. How many rides will they throw up on? Disney is no longer Disney. They should have stopped at Star Tours.

    1. Beatriz Rodriguez

I had the A/P at Walt Disney World, for Florida residents for weekdays only and I paid $27.00 monthly. It was good, I could go to any of the 4 pks, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Epcot and Animal Kingdom. I did not renew when it expired last December but I’m planning to after the pandemic is over.

  38. BCM

Too expensive. I’ve been to both parks. When I was younger, the longest lines were 30-45 minutes at most. You could get through so many lines and rides in a day’s time. The lines for buying food were also reasonable, so you could get a meal or two, even a couple of snacks, and still not waste much time that was better spent on rides or attractions. The parks weren’t stuffed full, so that you felt like a sardine. However, the past 10 years have been less and less fun. Much more expensive to get in, more expensive once you are in, long lines for everything (rides, attractions, shows, restaurants, snacks, etc). Plus now you’re wasting time trying to get fast passes for the one or two rides you definitely want to go on. There’s so many people, it feels suffocating. The last time I went, we got there before the gates opened, and by 10:30am the park was at capacity. It was a miserable day, fighting the crowds literally everywhere. So no, if the tickets cost that much, and you spend most of the day either in line for something or fighting just to walk around the park, it’s not a good value or experience.

  39. Rob

Disney has always been a luxury day for fun and entertainment locals whom have taken advantage like a day at the beach or a local babysitter disney is a for profit business less we forget that millions of fans and tourist have made it successful you pay a premium price for premium entertainment which comes at a price, discounts to locals are appreciated during slow season but too many locals took horrible advantage

    1. Mary McCarty

I think they are incredible overpriced. It doesn’t end at check-in. 10.50 for a hot dog is shameful. NOT the happiest POE.

  40. Kay

Shut the hell IGNORANT. YOU DONT KNOW PEOPLE’S CITATIONS. WE’RE IN A PANDEMIC.

  41. George

Just spend your stimulus check. This trip is on uncle Biden.

  42. Nikole

I think that the whole limiting reservations to California residents is ridiculously unfair. We’ve had our vacation paid for since November of 2019, to take place in April of 2020. We’ve had to reschedule 2 times already and can’t get a confirmation on which date to reschedule it for AGAIN. Not to mention these ($900+) tickets will expire in December. Yea the whole thing is totally overpriced!

    1. All prices for entry and passes are unrealistic for an average family no one is a “broke ass” because they believe prices are unreasonable you pay for a family of 4 or 5 and then come back and talk to everyone who has a good sized family they’ve gotten greedy

  43. cindy

yes they are getting to pricey and maybe need to rethink there prices.

  44. Anne

I love Disney! Yes, it’s gotten way too expensive for a family of 4 to go enjoy. We live in Texas, so it’s almost a full day driving there and back. Flying is expensive and they charge for carryon. We look for the cheapest, hotels, but we check the ratings first. Anyway, $150 a ticket is a lot when the park is filled to capacity and the lines are outrageous. Because our grands are older, we have to take them out of school to go or go during peak time. Would love for it to be more affordable

  45. Jeff C

600 to 700 just to walk in the door for a family of 4. No Amusement park is worth that much. They can charge 50ba person and still make enough money to pay all their bills and then some. They make enough in 1 days admission to pay the annual salary of all employee and I understand it’s expensive to run a park like that but not enough to charge those fees. Merchandise pays for itself and makes them a high profit. Food does the same thing. They could afford $50 to 75 per person and still make a killing. It’s sad that the people and kids who benefit the most of enjoying Dland can’t go. It’s just becoming the land for the rich and famous. So sad.

  46. Holly Rigsby

Way too expensive for our family… Our kods would love to go but tickets are $600. Plus traveling there let alone hotel fairs ?

  47. SylP

That’s why we will find better things to do with our life and money.

  48. Lance M

I just find it strange that so many people are complaining that the prices are too high without any real justification other than it used to be cheaper. What should the ticket prices be? Universal is only slightly cheaper. I just read today that at Heavenly resort to go down there mountain coaster 1 time is $71. Lift tickets at major ski resorts are over $150. Right now at my local theater, a Friday evening IMAX movies is almost $21. Considering that is 2 hours or less it doesn’t seem that Disney is really that overpriced.

Disney has branded itself as a destination place. Which also means they aren’t pricing it as a place you are expect to go multiple times a year or even every couple of years.

Going to Disney is a luxury, not a right. We didn’t have money growing up but may parents saved up for our 1 trip to Disney World (still with tickets) at had to drive a long way as no way to afford flight. Most of our vacations were camping or staying with family/friends. Disney World stand out to me for that reason. Not because we went every 3 months, but because it was a one time family vacation that I still have specific memories of.

  49. Dawn

Yes way too expensive and mlb parks are tripling their prices for seats at a baseball game. Pathetic

  50. Rose

The fact is entertainment is expensive! In comparison Disney is not that bad. I just attended my son’s wedding in another state and got an ad for the Olympic village in Utah–$75 for 3 hours using the facilities. How about $300 to see Hamilton for less than 3 hours of entertainment or skiing at $200 for 7 hours assuming you have your own equipment. Rent a boat or waverunner for $500-1200 for 6 hours. I could go on and on. Sure there’s options that are cheaper (surfing, hiking…) but a lot can’t do that. Disney works for all ages, and it’s quality entertainment.

  51. Mary Beth

I’ve been going to Disneyland since it opened and have been in 1000 voice choir at Christmas for many years but I guess I’ll never go again at this price and as a big Star Wars and Avengers fan it’s hard to take. Shame on you Disney for hitting locals so hard. We built Disney.

  52. Douglass Abramson

I haven’t been able to afford Disneyland for years. That is my problem, not their’s. Disney is a corporation responsible to investors and a board of directors to make money. As much as possible. That’s the economic system we live in. That, unfortunately, means it isn’t their problem that you or I have had a bad year and discount tickets would make things feel better for a while. Their problem is earning enough money to offset all of the red ink in their account books since the resort closed last March.

  53. Lyndi

I won’t be going to Disney for another 5 years so my kid will be old enough to enjoy everything, I don’t even want to think about the astronomical prices we’ll experience then. I can’t imagine it getting any cheaper.

  54. Jennifer

They should have $24.00 for California residents. What about people with Disabilities that can’t go on a fixed income. What about Homeless families that have no money they should be able to go. It’s not fair for 0 income to low income are not able to afford Disneyland. Have a special Day for people low income.
How about black out days people Disabled can go low cost.
Other days Homeless can come with their kids.

  55. Alexander

It’s basic economics, Disney will continue to raise prices till there is a breaking point. Disney will keep raising prices till people stop coming. There is no shortage of people willing to pay High prices for tickets so why not keep raising prices on everything. I rather take my family to the beach, camping, or to the lake. Less people and better time teaching my kids about the value of time and money. People can complain all day long and won’t change a thing, until people stop buying expensive tickets and force Disney to lower prices. Just my two cents tho !!!!

  56. Waingro

Yep. It’s true. Disneyland is expensive and some people can’t afford it. This is unfair and the only example of goods or services being out of reach of certain consumers. Every other luxury in the world is attainable by even the poorest person. That reality is thanks to the internet which gives people a chance to voice their financial status to CEOs who otherwise wouldn’t know how to set their prices.

  57. Annette

Yes. Disneyland has made millions throughout the years so I don’t think they are hurting for money. They have other sources of income from movies etc..It was suppose to be a place for families but now I don’t know how anyone can afford it. Shame on Disney

  58. John Skelton

No! I and my family have been to Disneyland a number of times and enjoyed the experience, BUT, the price of admission has reach a point where, with the cost of travel, California COBID restrictions, it is now totally unaffordable. Guess our days at Disney have come to an end.

  59. LM

People need to realize, a trip to Disneyland is a luxury expense, not a right. When Disneyland is affordable to all we see huge crowds and wait times. I’m all for the more expensive prices.

    1. Jessica

I guess I’m confused… these prices don’t look that different from pre-pandemic. We live out of state and save $750 a month for our yearly DL vacation. Since the AP payment plans our trips have been less than magical. But we will still be back. I’m just confused why everyone is shocked by the daily ticket prices? Is it APs who are upset?

  60. Bill Carter

All Amusement Park tickets are too expensive. And, once inside, they feel like their only reason for being is to see how much money they can extract from your wallet.

The food is over-priced and usually not even that good. The queues for the rides are too long.

I love the thought of going, but really don’t enjoy the actual experience when I get there.

And, yes, I can absolutely afford to pay the price, but I don’t feel that any of these parks (with the exception of Dollywood) represent value for the money spent.

Oh, and don’t forget that on top of the extortionate ticket prices, you have to pay an extortionate price for parking.

  61. Rroe

This is where all the price increases are going!

Disney CEO Bob Chapek Purchases $12.5 Million California Estate

  62. DEBRA RUSOVICK

Way too expensive, especially for people who have several children. When I was a child, we lived so close to DIsneyland, we could see the fireworks from our yard. Any time we could go was an effort but now, the pricing has become exorbitant. Now I am a widow, living strictly on Social Security, so a trip to Disneyland would be out of the question. I think this price increase is not in line with today’s economy. We are in the midst of a pandemic where people have lost jobs and many have not returned to work. Perhaps DIsney is only pandering to the wealthy?

  63. Mickeba

It is too expensive and has been for 2 decades at least. Gotta make Star Wars and Marvel acquisitions pay. That said, it’s a predictable outcome at least for me. People like “Nstasha” who feel “who cares, take my money” will be very disappointed when they pay $154 and there is no parade ( it’s been said many times there won’t be but that isn’t registering with “fans”) and can’t hug Mickey, and attraction lines are longer and ultimately it just wasn’t the same as before. We were annual passholders for 27 years and felt it was less and less a value as years went by. We continued to pay because it was part of our lifestyle and we still miss and love it, but it was grossly expensive and we couldn’t break the chain ourselves. Covid restrictions did that and now we see things like Disneyland differently. We won’t be going, not because of cost but because I’m not convinced it’s going to be immediately safe. Covid is not over and racing out to Disneyland is a big mistake. People will be very disappointed in how unlike past Disneyland experiences have been for them.

  65. Manny

I wonder why people are surprised when a private publicly traded company sets their strategy on what the market will bare.

Disney looks out for stock holders before anything else. Unless this changes you will always see profit before people.

  66. Rpcouv

While the price may be to high going during the pandemic while it’s at limited capacity is a premium experience. Lines are way shorter and social distance make the crowds tolerable . I believe Disney needs to keep some of the limits of the pandemic as no one wants to pay even 100 dollars to stand in lines all day I’ll gladly pay a 50 dollar premium for that and before you say someone is entitled if you are even lucky enough to be able to spend 500 to 600 dollars on a day of family fun or take a large vacation then I’d say you are already living a pretty decent life as many people cant even afford to to leave their home town or state for vacation.

  67. JeffC

Absolutely….for many years, my family were annual passholders, would visit the park 4-5 times a year. I got tired of the ~15-20% annual price increases. Now, single day, single park family of four is in excess of $1,000………Absurd.

  68. SG

    YES! WDW too!

  69. Sharon Van Riper

I think that the price is actually good considering it could have gone up. Its THE SAME PRICE as before the pandemic!! I will be in line asap to go!!!

  70. Sharon Van Riper

I think the prices are good , considering that they could have increased it. The price is the same as before the pandemic. I for one WILL pay the cost because, y
They could have closed forever. My family will be there asap when it opens up to out of state people.?.

And the food is way too expensive.

    1. Genee' Woodson

They have been far too expensive for many years now. I’m sure they don’t care that the founder would.not be pleased with this level of greed using his name. They can make plenty of profit without being extortionists. That said, the tiers of prices since reopening from a pandemic are offensive! Why fans are indulging this is crazy on its own. I won’t pay full tix price – certainly not a higher tix price – when the park isn’t opening all of the rides, not offering parades or fireworks, and my perfectly healthy family is expected to semi suffocate in a mask all day. I have been and will continue to spend our money travelling to other attractions in and out of CA that give us better options. No longer the happiest place on earth.

  72. Barbara Ervin

Everything Disney is too expensive but then greed is rampant in this country!

  73. Tommy Dodger

The price is only too high if they can’t fill the park. I won’t pay that to go, but if they’re full then the price point is correct, or maybe even a little too low. Ultimately it’s the public that determines price based on how many are willing to pay it.

  74. Disney HAS ALWAYS been expensive. Everything with the “Disney” name attached u can add from $5 to $100’s of dollars more on it.When it cost u 3 months of Rent or more just to spend a few days at the Parks and unless U purchase “plans” its even more expensive. I realize its been tough w/ Covid this past yr, but Disney can help by taking a MLB fan Fav for ex: Family of four + Lunch+ Parking on Tues and Thursday =$150( just a HYPO) but this is what MLB has “plans” like this to get fans who don’t have “Disney” money to come to games w/out breaking the bank. Also, like to see less expensive Mech in stores(Star Wars & Marvel& Disney action figures7Toys) Right now most Americans can’t Drop $25 on a single toy and with Walmart or Target being the ONLY locations for toys it would also be nice to see store shelves with product on them and NOT having to wait weeks for merch to get on shelves, online cast more.

  75. Vickie

One hundred percent and has been for decades.
The whole reason Walt Disney created the parks was for the disadvantaged peoples. Those who would likely never travel much if at all. And, never be international travelers.
Now people even in middle America need to budget for a year or more.
    And, the disadvantage can’t go..ever.
IMO he is rolling in his grave.

  76. Casey

Yes. Only the rich can splurge here now and have the whole Disney experience comfortably. Too crowded anyway ..thought the high prices would deter the crowds

  77. Carol Neff

I have been a lifelong resident of California and consider Disneyland as part of my culture. So sad my grandchildren will most likely never experiemce this important part of being a Californian. Corporate greed is taking away our children’s joy.

  78. Brian Banton

I’m not even allowed to go since I don’t live in California, so the price is irrelevant. I really don’t care how much they charge.

  79. Ranndy

I feel like they should make one day even more expensive like $50-$100 more from what it is now the people that want short lines such as myself(perhaps Sunday) and the rest of the days drop the price maybeee $50 for adults and $100 less for kids from what it is now for the low income big families that want the opportunity to take their kids

  80. Y. Wilson

As a child I didn’t go, my parents couldn’t afford to take a family of 4 on that kind of luxury. As an adult, I still can’t afford it. My 2 sons are grown, my husband & I would have loved to have taken them once, but it was too expensive. We probably could have afforded the trip, but we put providing the necessary needs of life before the wants. It’s over priced & over rated. I’ll probably never go.

  81. Theresa Rosiles

    Prices are ridiculously high.

  82. Joan Metcalf

This is outrageous, over Christmas in 2019 my husband and I wanted to join our grandkids at Disney World and we’re charged $364.00 a piece to get in!!! Merry Christmas to us

  83. I Love Disneyland but I’m sorry to expensive for family that can’t afford especially when children dream is to go To Disneyland to meet up with Mickey Mouse and Mini Mouse the whole Gang. Plz lower ur prices Please

  84. Matthew Brewster

It’s a matter of Supply and Demand. Disney has such a manic core of fans who, after a full year of deprivation, are literally foaming at the mouth to satiate their desire for a Disney Fix. BUT, once the initial surge subsides, and the out of staters are allowed in, price shock will set in. At that point, crowds will radically drop, forcing Disney to relax its prices.

  85. Denise Lambert

Disneyland and WDW have always been more than the other parks. My one big peeve to me it the parking structure fee of $50. If you buy a ticket parking should be included especially at those prices. But I think the park is superbly set and they have to maintain that higher rate for quality. If you want basic go to Six Flags and such. It isn’t very clean or classy. And think about it you pay how much for a sports ticket or concert ticket and it is to sit there for a few hours and that is it. I pay for the excellence of what Disney does and the full day of memories any time.

  86. sherrin

I could never be able to take the 4 grandkids I have custody of… prices are to high… its a dream if the kids but it won’t happen.. ?

  87. No it’s not too expensive. Especially when they are open regular hours 8am – 12 pm. To way cheaper than snow skiing or golfing when you take into consideration hours open. Shoot even movies are more expensive by the hour

    1. Gabe

Just put the cost on your credit card. So what if it cost to much if you want it you have to have it no matter how much it will cost. To hell with all the loosers. If you want to go get a second job or sell your body..

  88. Rachel Redmond

Disney’s magic is only for the rich. over priced. Disappointed. Hate feeling ripped off.

  89. Carl Nardei

Given the amount of money lost by Disney during the Pandemic, it was inevitable that the cost of a park admission would increase. It was only a matter of Disney calculating the amount of the increase in relation to the financial and other sufferings of its customers. For me, I am not returning to Disneyland until 2022 at the earliest, more likely 2023.

  90. Jose

    Legoland and Knotts,,,,,,here I come

I have been and will continue to spend our money travelling to other attractions in and out of CA that give us better options. No longer the happiest place on earth.

  92. Consider this. If you go to Disney at peak time and wait 1 hour per ride and each ride is 5 minutes, what can you do in that timeframe? Disneyland is only open for 10 hours, so you get to ride 10 rides (maybe 15) so you spend 50 to 75 minutes actually on a ride. Seeing a 2 hour concert is really a better deal because your time on earth is finite and irreplaceable. You spend more money for the opportunity to wait in line at WDW or DL than actually riding anything. I can afford to go, but wasting my ever decreasing time on this earth is not worth it.

  93. Gilbert padilla

I thought the price is 89.00
Very costly for a family of four.

  94. Ted.C

Way to expensive. The mouse gets more greedy every year and at some point Americans will say enough is enough. I have been a loyal WDW guest for the past 15 years. Dec 2019 was my last trip. Disney only cares about how much money they can squeeze out of you. I have had enough. It’s not magical anymore and just feels like a shake down.

  95. J

Disney is way to expensive now. When Walt opened the park he wanted to make an experience where everyone could enjoy, and keep price minimal. Now its all about the might dollar. Most families that live on 30,000 a year will never be able to take children. Sure has changed a lot in the years. I do not really like disney anymore since I am older. It is too commercialized now. But all children should be able to go and experience it. So sad.

  96. Sam

Yes it is too expensive , for family of 4 it is too much for anyone …
Compared to other parks , universal annual is 189 which less than one day spending in Disney !!
We love Disneyland but with this insane rise in tickets and even their plans for roaring expensive annual .. I don’t think we will be able to go anymore 🙁

  97. Ryan

I will happily never see the inside of the park again with those prices. I like $60 Disneyland. I hate $154 Disneyland and have much better things to buy with that money than having a moderately annoying day with crowds.
