I agree, and the fact that we’re getting so many “What happens when they rehab it?…Well, they MIGHT!!” blue-sky rehab-for-rehab’s sake rumors in the wake of Splash/Tiana says a lot more about the fans than it does about Disney:
If Disney park-fans “love” the park so much, why are they so obsessed with CHANGING it? Almost every single Armchair Imagineer rumor involves tearing down or rehabbing some “old” Walt-era attraction, and then coming up with after-the-fact rumors why it “deserves” it…And which now has mutated into whisper-campaigns that “They’re already planning it! How will we react?” when the article makes it clear at the bottom that they’re not.
Are we trying to subconsciously befriend what we fear (a textbook psychological habit) when we don’t understand why WDI keeps changing Test Track or Snow White?
Is it short attention span, and demanding constant “new” attractions even though there’s no new space for them?
Or is it just some fan-culture feeling of “control”, which they constantly feel they need to have for anything they’re fan of?
Somebody needs to start putting these rumor-columns on a couch, showing them some inkblot tests, and asking them about their childhoods…
Absolute rubbish! Thee Hanging at the top of the Stretching Portrait Room has zero to do with lynching!! It’s all about D-E-A-T-H (and the Ghost Host is offering ‘his way out!’) which is lampooned throughout the Ride!
This ‘Canceling and Neutering’ has got to stop, please! It’s a Macabre Attraction – not the Dumbo Ride – filled with playful frights and silly spooks!
Let’s just get rid of Haunted Mansion because it shows dead people, or the Tiki Room for not including one of every bird from around the globe. This is complete nonsense and I’m curious to why now are people upset about this? Do people really think all 999 haunts died peacefully in their sleep? I guess they’ll be going after the dueling ghosts in the ballroom for owning a firearm. I’m offended Disney by your ridiculous changes. Update a ride don’t strip mine it because it won’t stop with the Hanging Man.
Do you not go to any other haunted houses; Nor watch any scary movies?? Don’t read or watch news?? The changes are nonsense! Not every one is rich enough to go to Disney many times. Leave it alone, bad enough they ruined the auction at the pirates of the Caribbean…..

As someone who’s attempted suicide before, I can confirm that I honestly do not care about suicide references or even suicide jokes. Neither does pretty much every other attempt survivor I’ve met.
Btw pirates will be going down soon to remove all fire elements, “fire bad, Aghhh!!!” The pirates are kindly and giving, the ghosts arent scary and I suppose Indians never burned down cabins. I’m offended by those who claim to be offended. The only escape from the madness of the mansion is to give up and make yourself a ghost. And whoever posted that the sound effect was a park goer running into the wall to end it all. Sheesh, it’s the body falling from the ceiling and landing on the floor and the voice of him from the past.
