Florida requires drivers to have auto insurance to protect individuals injured by vehicles. So why not require a free vaccination passport to enter our state to protect individuals from Covid?
Just seems like such a simple and easy thing to do to get things back to normal.

Insurance does not require you to inject a foreign substance into your body. Not even a remotely close comparison

If a vaccine passport is required our Disney days are over and that is incredibly sad. I feel safe going anywhere without a vaccine or mask, common sense goes a long way. Science and data have been thrown out the window and control and fear tactics have taken their place.

I feel safe driving to the grocery store but I still wear my seat belt. I feel safe crossing the street but I still look both ways. I feel safe boiling eggs on my stove but I don’t touch the burner to see if it is hot. Common sense to protect yourself goes a long way. And yes, the C-19 survival rate is high and folks die from the flu, cancer, heart disease, stroke, diabetes and science has been chasing those cures for years. But because you’ve never known someone with or died from the C-19 virus doesn’t mean it isn’t real. I hope you or your loved ones never contract the virus, that is what would be incredibly sad.

I have lost 5 friends to covid19 and several family members have had it. We all stand by – no masks are necessary and no vaccines! The vaccine is experimental at best. It takes years to create a vaccine; we do not have one for the common cold or AIDS (and I would say AIDS is much bigger threat than covid19).

        2. Silvia brosien

          Yes you are so. Right
I will not go to any place that is insane with its passports

    2. Jerry

Buying insurance to drive a car and being forced to inject chemicals into yourself in order to even function in society are two very different things.

    3. UNLIKE DRIVER’S LICENSE, WOULD BE EASY TO FORGE. EVERY ONE WOULD HAVE ONE; EVEN THE CAT.

    4. Vaccination does not protect you! It protects (maybe!!) the person vaccinated! According to “experts”. They can still carry and transmit the virus! If Disney requires me to “show my papers” to get in, We won’t be coming in! And we have been vaccinated!!

      1. Silvia von lindemann

        Thanks
        You are correct.

    5. Auto insurance doesn’t violate privacy rights under HIPAA to keep your medical records private. Unless the government dissolves HIPAA medical passports are illegal to require for travel or to enter establishments. Also strange how we want all this info about our health to travel but dont want any info to vote because that is just discriminatory according to some, very sad what USA is being turned into.

Florida as a state has banned Vaccine Passports so due to that Walt Disney World can not have them.

    1. J

Disney can require them on their private property. The Florida govenor is saying they won’t be required to enter the state of Florida. But if you are flying to Florida the airline can still chose to require it. If you want to enter private property once in the state of Florida they are allowed to require it also. Hotels and restaurants can also choose to require them if they want to. The Florida govenor won’t like that but he can’t do anything about it other than complain. All he can do is not require it to access government property (state parks and such) and and to enter the state. He can also stop whole cities in his state from requiring passports on public property. But private property is protected by law and can require whatever they want. Which is why they can require masks on their property as part of the dress code. They can absolutely require proof of vaccination of they want to in order to allow you onto their private property regardless of what the govenor says.

      1. EASILY FORGED..

      2. Jess

Then how is that when the government was requiring masks and private establishments weren’t enforcing this, those private establishments were penalized and fined? If the government can enforce one way – to wear a mask, then they can certainly enforce the other way as well – not allowing proof of vaccination requirement. You can’t have it both ways folks.

  3. Peggy

Vaccine passports should NOT be required. With a 98% survival rate on this virus, it should be optional.

  4. Dmacds

Bye Disney! No to the vaccine at this time.

  5. Tom Winters

This article is swayed to continue the fear. FL Governor stated not just the state but public sector cannot require the passports. So no for Disney. He did not state that for masks. Also the vaccine does not mean you cannot contract it and spread COVID. It is a vaccine to help with symptoms not an immunization. People please see the light. I am a devout Disney freak and these scare tactics need to stop. If you are concerned stay home. This slanted article and all of the others similar without true facts is hurting things not helping us get back to normal or let us enjoy Disney.

    1. EASILY FORGED. NO REAL PROTECTION. REQUIRE PASSPORT TO GET INTO PARK. WON’T BE ANY VISITORS FOR MONTHS WHILE EVERYONE GETS THEIR FORGED PASSPORT.

      1. Emma

Thanks Frank, we got it the first two times. You forge your cat’s vaccine records.

      2. Paul

FRANK, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT.

(p.s. Notice how all caps is really annoying?)

  6. Paul

The folks who are screaming about how easily this can be forged really have no clue about how this technically can be done. Think of these approaches available today:

When you use an electronic payment service like Apple Pay, none of your credit card information is exchanged, only a unique token. The same can be done for your health information. Only a unique token that doesn’t identify you, personally.

Services like Bitcoin use a technology called blockchain and public key wallets. There’s a reason why the IRS can’t get a 1099 for all your trades – your personal information is never available, only a public “key” from your electronic wallet.

Visa is in the process of transforming all of their customer transaction reconciliations to these technologies because they’re faster, safe, and completely auditable. If they somehow are hacked it leaves a complete trail of exactly how it happened. The companies helping research how to build vaccine passports understand this tech.

Most of you use email and texts to exchange all sorts of private, confidential information, and you have no idea whether that communication is secured, or if so, how. Here’s an opportunity to really understand how this stuff works and see it used for something really positive for society.

No to this experimental drug. I’m no lab rat hopefully Mickey isn’t either.

  8. Dana

The CDC, Mayoclinic and John Hopkins all are saying that the vaccine does not stop you from being a carrier. It is to lighten the load if you get Covid 19. Therefore requiring you to have a passport does nothing except state the fact that you are less likely to get sicker when you get it. I am beyond furious that people are forcing this especially when a “one size fits all” does not work for everyone. How is it making anyone else feel safer if the person next to me can still be a carrier? What if I’m deemed immune by titer? What if medically, I have been told not to get the shot? It used to be medical decisions were between you and your doctor.

    1. Paul

Actually, what the CDC et.al. are saying is it’s currently not known to what degree transmission is reduced by the vaccine. What is absolutely, concretely known is that with the vaccine, if you do get COVID-19, your viral load is dramatically lower. That means the number of virus particles you might exhale is dramatically lower. And preliminary data shows a decrease in transmission that proportional to that decreased viral load.

Also, with the Pfizer vaccine, a newly released study showed it was 80% effective in preventing both symptomatic and asymptomatic COVID-19. That closes a hole in the previous studies and approvals.

The reality is these vaccines are incredibly safe and effective. Unless you have a specific health condition, there’s no reason not to get this vaccine. If you do, it could be that yes, you may find yourself restricted from some activities. But then, if you have a health condition that puts you at risk, maybe that’s not such a bad thing for now?

        Well Said and Proven!

It would make more sense to require people to prove they don’t have AIDS or Hepatitis-C before admitting them to Disney world. Those are both much deadlier contagious diseases. But no one ever asked for that, so why for a cold virus?

    1. Snickers

Unless you plan to share needles or engage in unprotected whoopee making at the Magic Kingdom your examples of contagious diseases (both are blood or bodily fluid transmitted) are nonsensical. Try malaria or yellow fever, at least then you can blame those pesky mosquitoes.

  10. “These individuals might feel safer once again setting foot on Main Street, U.S.A. if they knew everyone at Disney World had received the vaccine, particularly if vaccine passports were also required for air travel.” I have been vaccinated and I certainly oppose “Vaccination Passports” As I believe Disney would. Disney has done very well in creating as safe an environment as they can. While still doing business. What would a Vaccination Passport do?? It doesn’t protect Disney nor anyone else. And Disney would now have to check everyone’s “passport”. Another step (and conflict potential) They certainly don’t want to entertain. Disney’s actions to date are “sold” to make you feel safe. The real motivation is to get customers in while minimizing both Liability and bad Press! With people flocking back to the parks and resorts in healthy numbers, where is Disney’s motivation to REQUIRE Passports from their guests? Simple! There isn’t any! I’ll reiterate what I’ve stated before. If you feel you are at Risk or you just feel frightened. Stay Away!! Until your situation changes!! Disney seems to be doing fine without you! For myself, Disney requiring a “passport” will definitely keep me away! And I am DVC/AP. But a line must be drawn somewhere.

No one should be made to put that vaccine in their body. Don’t trust it a little bit. If you’re scared get the vaccine it will protect you, but you shouldn’t infringe on someone else’s right to not take it. Have a Magical day everyone.

  12. Kenr

No vaccine passports, and more government control. It’s sad the number of people who need a government to make them feel safe. A government to tell them, where to go, what to eat, how to travel, when to where a mask and how close they can stand near another person. All over a virus with a 99% survival rate. Gosh, the lock downs, kids not learning, and the financial ruin wrought by our government did more harm to people than the virus.

  13. Rr

I don’t care who gets vax or not it’s there choice; I just want WDW to go back to full/normal operations as soon as possible. If a vaccine passport allows Disney to drop masks and social distancing, the. I’m all for it

  14. Tonya

I believe that, AT BEST, Disney would allow people with this bogus “vaccine passport” to skip the temperature check line and MAYBE get a special wristband or something so that they wouldn’t be required to wear a face mask while on property.

  15. Silvina

Absolutely not.covid19 is a redpiratory/flu virus what will mutate.
Yellow fever or cholera shots are important to travel to 3rd world countries.because they protect you from getting this dangerous desease.covid is not a 99.9%recovery rate there’s absolutely no need for a vaccine passport.there was covid 1 etc.and other flu spikes.so nope

  16. Luka

It’s sad to see so many uninformed comments. Do you take antibiotics? Chemo? How about vaccines for measles? Tetanus shots? All foreign substances that have made our lives longer and kept tens of millions of people alive since their discoveries. Clearly our education system is in need of improvement. I hope Disney does institute vaccine requirements for guests and employees.

  17. Denise Wheeler

Vaccines are still in their trial stages. Some of us have allergic reactions to MANY things, and too many people have had allergic reactions to these shots. We do not have to prove we have had vaccines for ANY other illness… some of which are much deadlier than Covid. Why is this vaccine being pushed SO HARD when there are prophylactic treatments? Things that are much less dangerous than taking a vaccine with sometimes deadly side effects? Not trusting this whole situation and definitely not trusting this vaccine. I’ve travelled Florida and visited Disney several times during this “pandemic “. I never quit working. We don’t wear masks and we’ve stayed healthier than portions of our company that wear masks. I take supplements that do the same thing as hydroxychloroquine…. and I’ve not had a viral sniffle. Did have a BACTERIAL sinus infection….. probably from wearing a mask…

  18. johnny

This is the most fascist take I have ever seen. How dare you recommend people be forced to participate in a medical experiment just to go on vacation.
