A new gray collar apartment complex is being built close to Walt Disney World will bring more housing opportunities right to Disney’s doorstep.
There is a lot of residential and commercial development going on near Disney, so we want to break down the details of this new apartment development for you in case you are looking for a place to move to close to the theme park.

According to a report by the Orlando Business Journal a new apartment housing complex is being built soon that is close to Walt Disney World property:
On Dec. 2, Provo, Utah-based PEG Cos.’ Aria Orl Reedy Creek LLC bought 3010 Reedy Creek Blvd. for $3.2 million, according to Osceola County records. Jumani Hospitality Group Inc. was the seller. PEG Cos. plans to convert the 103-room Hawthorn Suites into an apartment complex on 3.8 acres. The developer seeks to provide “gray collar” housing — residences for teachers, nurses and hospitality workers. The apartments will be called Aria Apartment and will be a Class B multifamily development.
This new project is converting a hotel into apartments that are designed for “gray collar” workers, but what does that mean?

A gray collar worker is a worker who is trained and holds a license or certificate, or diploma in a certain field — for example, teachers, dental assistants, or first-responders. The new apartments that are being built in Osceola County will be geared towards these workers. With that in mind, we assume that the apartments will offer a wide array of amenities and be at an affordable but slightly higher price point than a non-luxury apartment complex.
However, as OBJ noted, this will be a Class B multifamily development which means that although the property will be an older renovated apartment complex, the developers still anticipate offering good management and having reliable tenants. It will not be high-end, but it will still have a lot to offer.

Could this be a good option for Cast Members once it is finished? Maybe. We will have to wait until the Aria is complete, but for right now Disney has opened up their new apartment complex at Flamingo Crossings for CMs only called Flamingo Crossings Village.
