I just turned 75 March 13. I have been coming to Disneyland since 1955 for my ninth birthday. The magic is still there after all these years. I will be there again when they allow out of state people.

We are Vacation Club Members. We live in AZ. We are hoping that California will lift the residents only rules so that we can come to Disneyland. We’ve been to Disney World at least 25 times over the years. Living in Arizona we have grown to also love and appreciate Disneyland. We have reservations at the Grand California for May 22-25. If California lifts the restriction on non-residents, I would think that Disney would make room for people that are actually staying at their hotels to get into the parks. The hotels are nice in downtown Disney is nice, but let’s face it, we got into Disney Vacation Club because of the parks experience. Without the parks there will be no reason for us to come to Disneyland this year. We have to cancel by May 1st otherwise we will lose our points. So our fingers are crossed that in the next 6 weeks or so some restrictions will change and Disney will take care of the members that take care of Disney.

If I’m being honest, the ideal change at Walt Disney World would be the addition of a Tangled boat attraction in place of It’s a Small World. The Magic Kingdom version of the ride has always been below par. The attraction is a disappointment. It’s a Small World needs a grand pavilion entry like in the other Disney parks. Besides, a Tangled attraction in Florida would fit well next to the Tangled restrooms (which is an insult to the fairytale franchise).

I am a greatgrandma that first visited Disneyland when I was in the 9th grade. I honeymooned there and have taken the next 3 generations at least twice a year since then even though we live out of state. I have seen many changes over the years, as has my family. Hopefully as things open up more they will get back to magical experiences that make Disney, Disney…the interactions with characters at meals and on the street, parades and fantasmic. We are looking forward to initiating our newest family member when these experiences return.
