  1. I will wait to see what guests say about the mask mandate while in the park. When you are wet and have wet hands, hair and skin I don’t see how a mask will hold up throughout the day without becoming a sticky wet hazard to the wearer.

My extremely large family won’t be visiting anything until all mandates have been removed like in Texas. In the heat, the masks are extremely uncomfortable breathing in my own air. And I don’t care what anyone says, it is extremely unhealthy. I feel if someone is concerned, they can choose to wear a mask or stay home. I agree with the temperature taking (because some people are inconsiderate of others) and cleaning of hands, but not because of COVID, but because of any illness. This is a practice I have followed for years. I always clean a shopping cart before using it. I always sanitize my hand before touching anything. I never go out if I have any sign of not feeling well. Common courtesy and respect is all that is needed. We will vacation in completely open states.

      I agree with you

Thanks Kim, I wish more people would think like you do. That would mean the Parks would be less crowded and there would be more room for the rest of us who don’t mind wearing a mask in public. Having worn a mask for years in an operating theatre, I’d hazard a guess that I’m as or more healthy than the next person. But then again, what do those in the medical profession really know? Get the vaccine and we can end this silly debate.

Wow – way to keep the fear alive. A virus that 99.99…% of folks recover from, a virus that is NOT stopped by a paper or cloth mask, a virus that is NOT responsible for 500,000 deaths if we really looked at the numbers. As for the vaccine, it’s NOT a preventative, it’s NOT a treatment, therefore it is NOT a vaccine. Those who want to wear a mask are welcome to them. Those who want to sign up for the vaccine are free to do so. Many of us have been living life since last Summer, including dining out, kids in school (mask optional), kids in sports (yes, only a limited number of states stopped this). You can wear as many masks as often as you please, but you do not need to condescend to those who simply disagree. This sham of a pandemic has been ongoing since March of last year scaring a good 50% of the public. It’s time for the madness to end and let people live.

Hi Stacey – it’s heartening to hear you and your loved ones have not been affected by the virus as you go about your daily lives in Anywhere, USA. I guess until a person experiences first hand the trauma and pain caused by the virus one will never understand the true impact it has. Don’t want to wear a mask, then don’t patronize businesses that require masks. Pretty simple. Whether you believe masks work or not is irrelevant. What a surprise it must be to Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson to learn their vaccines do not prevent the virus. BTW, a vaccine is a substance used to stimulate the production of antibodies and PROVIDE IMMUNITY against one or several diseases. But again, what do those in the medical profession know. To think I wasted 6 years of my education only to find out I could have called Stacey to get all the answers. Not condescending, just disagreeing.

            Best response ever !

You mean she doesn’t have to be condecendent like you are to her? How many people do you know who have gotten the virus or died? I unfortunately know many. So if you didn’t take any precautions and you are still healthy, good for you, you are very lucky.

Disney is going crazy. Chlorine kills the virus as said by the CDC so being in a pool or water park there is a completely almost a zero chance of getting it. Plus the heat & humidity has less chance to survive in the air. Doesn’t matter if all mandates in Florida are gone, Disney will go against it because of political reasons. Learn to live with it or stay home & do nothing. It’s been a year & we should be going forward not backwards

We won’t be going back…if you’re worried about catching something … don’t go… messing up everyone’s vacation is bad business… disney has lost it’s magic….and probably won’t get it back with people that are in charge now…been going every year since 2000…they just don’t get it ….and that’s to bad…

Wear a mask or you stay home. My god you clearly don’t have a job you leave the house for. It’s hot I wear one everyday suck it the f up buttercup.

    5. Maria

I agree you and your large family should stay in whatever state you live in or go visit the extreme states that don’t care about people at all.

  3. Lis

I think enough is enough Disney . Pandemic is all about control . You cant be wet then put a mask on to pee or to grab food. They were never concerned last 50yrs about the flu and this is now just over kill masks have proven to not even work

    1. Susan

      AMEN!

    2. Stacey

Agreed – it’s disgusting to wear a mask for extended periods of time and in a restroom no less. My kids do not wear them to school (it’s optional) and we have a very large district. Guess what, 77 active student cases in a district with over 40,000. It’s absolutely about control and somehow nearly half the population has been brainwashed to accept it and conditioned to stay silent.

This is THE DUMBEST thing I think I’ve read in awhile about Disney.
Masks in heat are a good way to raise your body temperature. Another reason we exhale is to regulate our body temps.
Dumb crap like this why my DVC membership is on hold….til Disney realizes this is getting out of hand.

  5. Nancy

I think it’s stupid! When The state of Florida isn’t requiring you to wear a mask Disney world shouldn’t either. If you’re that afraid if catching covid stay home

    1. BD

The State of Florida shouldn’t be anyone’s guide for medical advice LOL That state’s medical decisions are being made by politicians who aren’t listening to health professionals. But that doesn’t matter to people with these opinions. Disney knows better than to follow that state’s “guidance”. One large outbreak linked to their property and it’ll be a PR nightmare. They know exactly what they are doing and aren’t worried that deniers won’t return to get their fix.
