I’d excited to see what’s next for the Alien franchise. Noah Hawley is creating an Alien series on FX so we already have something in the works. It was confirmed back in December.
It’s possible we’ll see one for literally NO OTHER REASON than new studio property owner/authorship (like they did with the Muppets), but ’17’s Alien: Covenant didn’t do much for Fox trying to revive the franchise, either.
There’s just…no coming back after Alien: Resurrection.
Disney mangles everything it touches.
I don’t like how they run their operations, which is on the far left.
I do not watch anything from Disney.
It sickens me they now have the Alien franchise in their incompetent hands.
Alien is likely my favorite franchise, so I’m extremely fearful of what Disney may do. Alien, Aliens, and many of the comics are the last true homages to the original concept. After Alien 3, the xenomorph just became far too disposable, seeming like anyone with a weapon can take one down. I doubt Disney will be taking the franchise in the right direction. Prometheus was a solid film, Covenant – no.
