WDW fireworks are great and the appropriate way to signal your evening is complete. Unfortunately, the parks aren’t open long enough into the evening to enjoy fireworks. I hope they’re brought back soon. Allowing youth to hug characters is probably too risky. Personally, I’d like to see all restaurants open, but I also understand how newcomers are missing out on the awesome shows.
I was just at Magic Kingdom last Friday and I knew what I was going into and that many things would be different this time around. I also knew there were no fireworks and was fine with that, but I will admit at the end of the day I really was missing them. Hopefully they will be back next year when I return.
I am not a huge fireworks fan, but I see how people would like them and it could be a symbol of returning to some sense of normalcy. My favorite night time show is the Star Wars projections on the Chinese Theater in Hollywood Studios. The fireworks shows are money makers for Disney. Disney had a dessert bar and open liquor bar with the Star Wars projection show. Very expensive and people were paying for it. They also received a plastic, Chewbacca cup. The Disney people let us stand in their area in front of the theater after they were all ushered in. Fireworks or night shows are a win win for Disney fans and Disney’s cash flow.
My children are looking forward to WDW for spring break March 2021. I am praying the fireworks show will be present. They are so excited! I do understand a crowd is formed to view the fireworks but also a crowed is formed to view the park. Please set guidelines for people to be six feet apart so that everyone can get the full spectacular experience of the firework show that completes the park with its beauty of being magical.
