If this remake is released theatrically, I think it would be a great idea for Disney to donate some of the BO grosses towards rebuilding the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Just my two cents.
This is first remake that I’m actually interested in. I’ve always loved the story and have been a fan of Disney’s version of it. It’s usually overlooked. My daughter (who’s named Esmeralda) will finally have her favorite “princess” in the spotlight! (Hopefully)
I think Disney made enough live action remakes. The original animated films are better. They must stop making live action remakes! I’m dead serious about it!
I read that they won’t be pulling anything from the stage production of the show for the new movie, which I think would be a BIG mistake considering it’s the best version…
So I love Gad as an actor, but I really hope he’s not becoming Quasimodo, because that is NOT a comedic role, and is a role of tragedy and sorrow, and that’s just not something I can see him pulling off. The I would have instead preferred he show up as a side character who can be the side humor to coincide with the darkness and tragedy of such an amazing film. So with that, I will say as long as they keep it somewhat faithful to the movie, provide proper pacing, and give us the same amazing music, it could be a very good film.
