This news is a huge blow to people like me who rely on affordable public transportation to get from place to place. Especially since I was hoping to use it during the 2022 WDW Marathon Weekend.

This is awful! Both for the guests who now will have to rent a car or pay for rides. And for Disney, bad PR and if people have to rent cars? More likely to go off property for meals and other adventures so not spending money on property.

Wow, that’s s disappointing. Going right to the Magical Express, no worries of luggage, and being in the Disney bubble right from the start, was all part of the Disney vacation experience. Sad that it’s ending. I bet the cost of anything at Disney won’t get lowered by that offset though.

You make a LOT of sense Tina!

      So true

This is horrible! My mom and I have loved going on our “girls only” trips for years. Which has largely been possible only because the magical Express handles our luggage and all the driving! It makes me so sad that we won’t be able to have our trips anymore 🙁

Based on Disney’s cut backs, it appears WDW is being sold.

Disney has definitely lost my loyalty. Other attractions are a lot more consumer friendly.

The entire theme park has downgraded their service. There is no club level service anymore. Hampton Inn has club service but Disney World can’t figure it out.
You can’t get a special birthday package sent to a room. No pre ordered birthday cakes.
You have to make your own bed and steal towels.
No, I’m not talking about Pop Century. I am describing the Yacht club and the Grand Floridian.

Parks close early. The parks are under heavy construction. Park hoppers don’t start until 2 pm.
You pay top dollar for a limited experience.

You can thank their brand new highly praised CEO-
Prepare for more unbearable changes for Disney under this man’s rule.
It’s now all about the $$$.

I’m so disappointed!!! This was absolutely the starting point to most Disney vacations. What is next?? I was a loyal Disney vacationer for 18 years. No parades, fireworks, buffets and now magical express?? I was really hoping to go back in 2021 – 2022 but the chances are very slim.
    Big mistake DIsney!!!!!!

I think we can all see the direction Disney is taking- it started with the death of Roy Disney, and has escalated under Bob Iger. He laid the foundation and framework for the new CEO who will not rest until Disney is chopped up and sold to the highest bidders – it will then become the most commercialized unimaginative company on the planet, no longer concerned with pioneering the future for a better tomorrow or Disney guest experience – and so on until it becomes unrecognizable as the dream that Walt Disney once cultivated and we all loved.
Think of the Santa Claus 3 when Jack Frost took over the North Pole. It’s not a far cry from that even now.
Hang on to it while you can, because it’s going, going, gone

  8. The Disney MBA’s aren’t as smart as the think they are – force the guests to rent a car, and they will use it to stay off property, and worse, to visit Universal.

No Perks staying at a Disney Resort. One pays a hefty price to stay on site and Disney continues to strip away extras and perks for consumers. I will think twice before staying in a Walt Disney Resort. Very disappointing, especially if there is a large group with many children involved.

    This is really not okay!
This puts a big wrench in our family vacations! As a group that includes an individual reliant on a wheelchair the buses were accessible and the luggage delivery made it so much more enjoyable to get through a busy airport. As it is getting through security when we return home we always end up leaving something and never get it back I can only imagine what will happen having to drag all our luggage. How are we going to get to the hotel now?

Since I’m sure it’s another cost-cutting measure, why didn’t they start with charging for the service? I would definitely be willing to pay a reasonable fee since I’ve always enjoyed the comfort of taking the motor coaches.

Maybe they think people will decide to rent a car, and then they can squeeze more out of them for parking (which was another bad idea).

From what I read in another thread Mears will still operate the service. It just won’t be WDW paying for the service. Mears also has smaller shuttles.

I think they are simply getting rid of all the MAGIC Disney has to offer, Walt must be spinning in his grave!

  13. Disney is now getting rid of all the magic that made going to Disney special, Walt must be spinning in his grave!
