For many around the world, we are all currently undergoing a second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, which has unfortunately hit hard on Disneyland once again.
Disneyland Resort has not opened their parks — Disneyland, and Disney California Adventure — since March leaving only Downtown Disney opened for Guests. The lengthy closure of the theme parks forced Disney to lay off many employees, and Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro even placed heavy blame on Governor Newsom and California with the belief that a reopening would have saved many jobs.
It is important to note that although Disneyland passed health and safety inspections by the state with flying colors, Newsom still will not allow the theme park to open until it’s in Tier 4. Since it is still in Tier 1, and a stay-at-home order has just gone out, it may be a while until things feel a little more normal.
A few weeks after opening Buena Vista St. as part of Downtown Disney, with COVID-19 cases on the rise and ICU space diminishing, a new stay-at-home order is in effect, and it is closing down lots of Downtown Disney. The order prohibits eating at Downtown Disney, but takeout is still available. As we reported, take out dining will include:
- Ballast Point Brewing Company
- Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes
- Earl of Sandwich
- Salt & Straw
- Wetzels Pretzels
- Jazz Kitchen Express
Even with the closures, it seems Disney is doing their best to keep Guests coming. The Disney Parks Blog site states:
