Disney Restricts Guest Access in Some Areas of Buena Vista Street

Buena Vista Street

Due to Governor Gavin Newsom’s new stay-at-home order, Disneyland Resort has had to make some adjustments to both Downton Disney and Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure.

Since Buena Vista Street reopened to welcome Guests for shopping and dining, it allowed Guests to walk around a great deal of Disney California Adventure. Today, however, more of those open spaces for Guests to wander have been closed-off

Thanks to Disney fan and theme park reporter Paul’s Theme Park Adventures on Instagram, we can see that the once open area in Grizzly Peak has now been closed off, as Smokejumpers Grill is now temporarily closed:

His post reads:

Buena Vista Street has reduced how far you can actually go into the park now ?. So far they’ve reduced the area near Avengers Campus and Grizzly peak but Hollywood seems to remain the same

He posted a second photo that shows that the tables and chairs across from Avengers Campus are now being blocked off. Of course, this comes as no surprise as eating inside the parks is not currently available due to restrictions.

Recently Disney canceled all dining reservations for Downtown Disney and Buena Vista Street. You can still get some of your favorite food on your next visit, but you will have to take it to-go!

In addition to these changes, Disney also added new signage reminding Guests not to eat or drink on Disneyland property. You can read more about that here. Hopefully, as restrictions lift in the future, Guests’ access to more of Disney California Adventure through BVS will become available again to those visiting the parks.

Disney continues to take the health and safety of its Guests and Cast Members seriously during this difficult time. You can read more about their health and safety guidelines here!

Not sure what will be open to enjoy during your visit? We have a list of the dining options that are currently available for take-out here.

What do you think about the Buena Vista Street experience being more closed off? let us know in the comments!
