Credit: Disney Parks BlogWalt Disney World has just released an update on its temporarily unavailable Minnie Van service between its property and Orlando International Airport:
Minnie Van service is temporarily unavailable at Walt Disney World Resort. Please note that Minnie Van service to and from Orlando International Airport will not be available for bookings until further notice, including as either a package add-on or standalone option. We are working with guests with existing Minnie Van bookings to arrange alternate transportation during their stay.
Minnie Vans began as a special partnership between Disney World and the rideshare company Lyft to provide an optional and more flexible form of transportation across the mega-resort for an additional charge. Minnie Van airport transfers became an option for Disney World vacation packages in October 2019.
Currently, the complimentary motorcoach service Disney’s Magical Express is available to take Guests from MCO to their Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. However, unlike before the closure, luggage services are unavailable.
It is unclear when we can expect the Minnie Vans to return to the Walt Disney World Resort both in their airport transfer service and in their resort transportation. Meanwhile, Guests are left to either use their own transportation (such as a rental car, Lyft, or Uber) to move around the Disney property or wait for one of Disney’s free transportation options such as buses, watercraft, monorails, or the Disney Skyliner.
Due to transportation schedules and CDC-recommended capacity limits, queues and wait times for these other means of Walt Disney World transportation have begun to pile up.
