The Emperor himself probably “saved” him so he could do evil things to him!! Ashoka did say things went pretty dark for the Child after his “saving.”

Seeing how The Emperor’s got plans on top of plans on top of plans, he was probably like, “Ohhh, my own Baby Yoda! I call keeps!”

I do like the idea of it being Jocasta, but a non-Jedi makes more sense. Arguably, this person was killed, but not by someone who had knowledge of who Grogu was, and it feels a safe assumption, if you encounter a jedi with a child, that child is a young jedi. And Dev found him where no Empire person knew (because why then hire the Guild) and no other living being.

People keep saying he was “saved?” That isn’t what Ashoka said.
“Someone took him from the temple,” says Ahsoka, “then his memory becomes dark.”
She says took, not saved or rescued. She says his memory becomes dark and that he was lost. Maybe this refers to the dark side of the force.
What about Darth Maul? Consider where Grogu is first found. Mercenaries aren’t exactly who you’d expect a Jedi choose to babysit an apprentice if he/she needed to go on a dangerous mission. Vader would use stormtroopers. It fits perfectly with a crime lord’s associates though. The writers seem to like bringing in characters from Rebels. It provides a good reason for the popular Maul to make an appearance in the show and it is consistent with what has already been revealed in the show.

Okay first off I’m pretty sure it’s not “Clone Protocol 66”, where did you get that information from. Order 66 was part of the 150 “Contingency Orders for the Grand Army of the Republic” that determined what to do in situations from “what to do when your officer is down to what to do if the chancellor goes gaga”. So wouldn’t it be “Contingency Order 66”? Not clone protocol 66?
