A journey of not making money. The Walt Disney Company is gonna find out real quick how bad things are gonna get. Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. Fox News found out the hard way.

  2. I would recommend to keep Disneyland closed until not only the coronavirus pandemic is over but until the Splash Mountain re theme is canceled.
So that way it will give Disney some time to get the rides in the park maintained and repair, Clean up those COVID-19 germs, hire some new Disney Cast members and get everything ready in time for the 100th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company in 2023. I did a 4-month research of the Splash Mountain re theme and the closing date of Splash Mountain for the re theme at Disneyland is currently unknown. We all know that the re theme for Walt Disney World is still happening since it’s already opened and for Disneyland there is still hope for saving Splash Mountain as long as Disneyland is closed during the coronavirus pandemic. Not only that there are rumors that the re theme might be canceled due to budget issues and the amount of money the Walt Disney Company has lost and the attraction might come to Fantisyland for the expansion and since June 25th everyone is fighting the battle to save the Splash Mountain ride for getting re themed. By the way, On June 25th 2020 I was looking at the concept art of the Splash Mountain attraction being re themed into The Princess and the Frog attraction on Facebook and on the news on different news stations on YouTube a few months ago and it is a cool idea for a Disney attraction and I like the idea. But there is still one problem, the cost. According to Disney Parks History classic rides like Splash Mountain is just to expensive to re theme. I don’t think Disney should re theme Splash Mountain because it’s not only a popular ride at Disneyland since 1989 but it’s to expensive to re theme into The Princess and the Frog. Also Disney has lost a lot of money due to the COVID -19 Pandemic so Disney might not do it. Not only that 2020 is not a very good year not only for Disney but for us as well and it’s kind of a weird year. But then a few months later Marvel fans want Black Panther to take over the re theme of Splash Mountain as well. It’s just a recipe for disaster that undermines the point of the re theme of Splash Mountain and it doesn’t do anything to add to it. Disney should leave Splash Mountain alone and shelve the project or put The Princess and the Frog attraction next door to Splash Mountain right where the back stage area is. Just like Disney is doing at Mickey’s Toon Town for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway which is going to open in 2022. Plus it’s the only way to save Splash Mountain. Or another idea, If Disney wants to do a Fantisyland expansion move The Princess and the Frog dark ride in Fantisyland and bring back the motorboat cruse and use that space for the dark ride. And for Black Panther Disney needs to do a new ride for Disney’s California Adventure in the new Marvel Land. I’ve signed up on Change.org to not only saving the ride but to come up with come great ideas to put The Princess and the Frog attraction somewhere else in Disneyland. Since June 25th a few months ago and right now this Splash Mountain re theme announcement did not share the same success as the Tower of Terror re theme announcement or even the Paradise Pire re theme announcement did. Not only 2020 is a weird year but everyone doesn’t like the concept art and they would rather prefer to keep Splash Mountain and save the ride for getting re themed. Not only that Splash Mountain is a fan favorite ride since 1989. Also during the coronavirus pandemic 28,000 Disney cast members got layoff because of this virus that’s been going on since March. So do you think the re theme of Splash Mountain will be canceled due to budget issues and Disney will move on to something else after the new year of 2021? I mean we got Mickey’s Runaway Railway coming soon to Toon Town in Disneyland in a few years. Also Disney has lost a lot over 1.4 Billion Dollars during the Coronavirus Pandemic. I would rather see Mickey’s Runaway Railway than the Splash Mountain re theme. I bet for Disneyland it’s going to be a very long time until we get some new 28,000 Disney cast members to run and maintain the park. Probability two to three years or maybe four years. But for right now we won’t have to worried because Disney’s California Adventure is going to open it’s gates very soon.
I want you to go online to Change.org and take a look at theses petitions.
    1. To Save Splash Mountain and keep it as it is in Magic Kingdom and Disneyland
    2. The Princess and the frog attraction next door to Splash Mountain
    3. Bring back the Motorboat Cruse in Fantasyland for The Princess and The Frog dark ride
    4. Save Splash Mountain for getting re themed into Princess and Frog along with Black Panther
Not only that I got some more clues. Do you remember that concept art that was announced a few months ago. The Disney Company did not made that concept art it was somebody else who is trying to scam Disney to re theme the attraction. Listen carefully to what Philip has to say.
Philip Kippel: Ok so just so you know that “concept art” wasn’t done by Disney! I found this out earlier by someone who lives in my town and knows the person who did it! Disney seen in on a Google post and they asked him to do more and work with them. Also another thing is, this thing has been a hoax from the get go! I’ve also had a certain Cast Member who shall remain nameless told me some inside stuff nothing too too deep because of NDA’s but he reassured me after I just asked for a confirmation he had to beat around the bush of course but, everything pretty much in the video is 100% true it’s not gonna happen. Also another thing is this the one in California runs right through the Haunted Mansion and a railroad so does the one in Florida. Until we have another head CEO Iger will reign terror over Disney until he’s gone. He love himself some Political Correctness he’s also very arrogant. Disney use to listen to fans once he took over fans got their traps sealed shut just like employees. Another thing is that it cost even in 1992 75 Million to make and for a MASS OVERHAUL it would take BILLIONS if not TRILLIONS to redo which would sink them. It’s easier to do a complete new attraction than re theme an old one. I still refuse to ride Runaway Rail Cart but, a CM told me that you have Turner Classic Movies to thank for not renewing their contract. Speaking of The Great Movie Ride it was supposed to get left alone and Imagineers wanted to do the old Catastrophe Canyon but Carter stepped in and stopped it all. They tried to fight back and they were threatened with their jobs. It’s one big disaster after another. So yes, in short Splash Mountain retheme is a HOAX! Buuuutttt….just in case join Help Save Splash Mountain on Facebook it has Valarie Stewart which is Nick Stewart’s daughter and Nick Stewart voiced Br’er Bear in Song of the South. We’re still fighting this thing just in case.

None of this needs to be done.

The day that Splash Mountain is rethemed will mark the end of a lifetime (I am 67 years old) of loyalty to the Disney Company. Over 20 Disney holidays over the years and those aren’t cheap as I live in the UK together with all the collectibles and money spent in the parks and in Disney Stores will come to an end. Splash Mountain is based on stories originating from the African American community and these should not be ditched. In all my years of riding Splash Mountain I have never heard a black family get off the ride and say “That was racist”. Everyone gets off with a smile on their face and warmth in their heart. Disney talks about attractions being ‘inclusive’ but that will not be the case with a Princess and the Frog retheme as those to whom it will mostly appeal will be young children who will not be able to ride because of height restrictions. A gentler ride is what is needed for Princess and the Frog and there is room within the parks to incorporate a brand new ride not a retheme … something that Tiana surely deserves

It’s not that we don’t realize what needs to be done….it’s the fact that a still super popular attraction doesn’t need to be sacrificed in order to do so! I’m “one of those fans” who isn’t happy with the change, and that’s only because I believe that Disney should build a BRAND NEW ride and/or restaurant for Tiana and leave Splash Mountain as it is. That way Tiana still gives more representation, and we also get to keep an attraction whose characters are based off of African tales which also promotes inclusivity as well.

    1. SaveMyLaughingPlace

Very well put, that is the other thing that irks me about this “well thought-out plan”, Walt Disney himself loved the Uncle Remus stories by Joel Chandler Harris (who spent time on a plantation). Walt bought the rights to bring these African Slaves/Sharecroppers (which is what Uncle Remus was – not a slave) tales to the big screen because they impressed him so much. He picked the best talent to portray Uncle Remus (James Baskett), Aunt Tempy (Hattie McDaniel) and vocal talents of Nick Stewart as Brer Bear in SOTS and Splash Mountain!
We have no problem whatsoever with the Disney Company honoring the first Black Princess with a ride and possibly a restaurant (since that was Tiana’s dream) we just feel it should be a newly built attraction and possibly restaurant.. BUT LEAVE SPLASH MOUNTAIN AS IT IS!

No I’m sorry but I find that bit about the Disney community a tad bit insulting. Who are you to say what is right and what is wrong?
We want Tiana to get her own ride, not a retheme of a beloved attraction.

    Bigotry driven comments in 3…2…1…

Oh darn, I posted too late. The comments are already out here and oozing.

    1. Kate Fisher

You don’t know what “bigotry” even means, do you? That’s just a buzzword to you I bet.

Obviously people aren’t happy about one of the best rides being changed and the PC agenda that is being shoved down their throats, that doesn’t make them bigots.

  8. Alysha B

This is nothing more than pandering. If Disney really wanted to make a contribution, they would use this money to make a real world difference instead of spending it on a ride. There are so many important organizations and causes out there that Disney could team up with or donate to… but this is how they choose to contribute? So tired of virtue signalling.

  9. Kate Fisher

“What must be done…” As if the destruction of Splash Mountain is required to give Tiana her own attraction when WDW has so much space to build brand new and the ride is not exclusive to anybody. It is beloved by people of all races and is considered even today one of Imagineering’s greatest triumphs. You shouldn’t need to sacrifice old for new, they should be able to coexist.

And Disney blogs like this need to stop mindlessly going along with whatever Disney does. There’s reporting on it and then there’s acting like what they’re doing is right and acting like fans need to just suck it up. No, they’re making a huge mistake. I guarantee if it were another Disney attraction like the Haunted Mansion going through this, people wouldn’t be telling each other to just get over it.

Splash Mountain is from folk tales that celebrate the spirit of intelligence over size and strength. Disney is making a terrible mistake. It’s pandering and obnoxious. I will never spend another dime on a Disney product.

  11. Melinda

Screw Disney! They lost my interest the last time I was there when each ticket was $100 just to get in!

I’m sticking with Knott’s Berry farm! They’re way cheaper and who doesn’t love Snoopy?

Leave Splash Mountain the same and expand the park like you did for Star Wars! Give Tiana her own land/area and leave Splash Mountain alone!

  12. SaveMyLaughingPlace

So here is what I find comical about the re-theming of Splash Mountain in the Disney Parks, they say they want to honor the first Black Princess and instead of truly honoring her with a newly built ride they choose to re-theme a ride that Disney is always saying is breaking down and give that to Tiana, really? Also, they take away a ride that is wildly popular with broad spectrum of DL/WDW/TDR fans/customers , we have spoken out on Social Media forums. No response from Disney! We are well over 101,000 strong and we will make our displeasure felt by our absence in the Parks, Hotels, restaurants and shopping, Hope you are happy Disney!
