  1. I lost my job in July, and we are going to Walt Disney World in December. How is that possible you may ask? I paid for our vacation in March 2020. This vacation was moved to May, June, and finally to December. We know this vacation will not be as magical as our last vacation 4 years ago. Not looking forward to the constant messaging and announcements of mask wearing.

My family and my wife’s family are going to WDW for a week in mid-December and staying at the Contemporary. You raise very valid points; however, I would add that a percentage of families/groups going right now are trying to take advantage of the reduced crowds and the perceived added value it brings. I know for my family, we are really hopeful that we can reasonably (emphasized) ride and see all the things we want to without the horrendous wait times that have become the norm at WDW the last few years. While we know the parks will be crowded, any wait of an hour or less for some of the most popular rides is a dramatic improvement over the 2-3 hour waits we experienced during our last stay in February 2019. While we missed our chance back in July to truly walk on most rides, this will have to suffice for now. I would add though, that we (along with others, I’m sure) are holding our final payments until the 7-days prior requirement to assess whether the expense still make sense from both a risk and reward standpoint (looking at you, WDW) – if not, we will cancel. Fingers crossed…

Moved our WDW from March 2020 to August, then March 2021, but we WILL be moving our vacation again. I have no idea how WDW is even open. The US today is a hotbed of covid, it’s EVERYWHERE, people need to STAY HOME you idiots had your fun, and now the rest of us with compromised immunities are telling you, GO HOME. Rest of the world sheltered in place and now they are reaping the benefits while it just keeps getting worse and worse in the good ole’ USA.

I think I’m mostly upset because I haven’t been to WDW since Epcot opened. Talk about rotten timing.

My family is at WDW now (11-23-20). They do NOT have reduced capacity. The parks are packed.
However they do have less restaurants and attractions open. The customer service is the worst we’ve seen. Covid 19 = less service.
