i thought it was for comic relief in a very serious ep i thought thats what the child is for the aww hes cute and give a giggle to a serious moment! Btw hes a toddler they will eat everything!
The critical comments on “The Child” eating the eggs are typical of today’s internet. Everyone’s way too quick to run to their keyboards and criticize a fictional TV show in a fantasy world without knowing the full story, or allowing a situation the breathe and evolve. Anyone watching who pays attention to Filoni’s world will know such plot devices tend to be intentional. So much “real” stuff you could be upset about in the actual world. Save your outrage, STFU and enjoy the show.
I could care less if the child ate the eggs.
And if anyone is “offended” that a fictional character ate some fictional props to amuse viewers they really need to find another hobby.
But – here is why the child ate the eggs (or at least what I think was going on ) he was CULLING the damaged or unviable ones.
He has the ability to sense and heal injury In others. This is established. He heals Din’s wounds, and Greef’s wounds and envenomation.
The first thing he does when he encounters the jar of eggs is… reach out to them with the force (you see them attract and move to his hand through the glass) so, he senses that some of them are damaged, or genetically unsound – so he tries to heal them and finds that it doesn’t work (maybe because they haven’t been fertilized, and not yet truly “alive”?) Anyway – he eats them because, 1. They are delicious, 2. He really has no other way of getting rid of them reliably.
Anyway he can’t articulate WHY he is eating them, and like several other things, Din misunderstands what exactly is going on.
Frog lady on the other hand… I think she knows what the child was up to, and possibly why. Considering how precious her eggs were to her, she must have known how many she spawned, that several were missing, and suspected where they went.
If you don’t have an eating schedule, missing several meals, you’ll later gorge on anything. Din hasn’t exactly stopped often to properly feed him, so “the kid” is going to hide and snack on what he can find. Bet those eggs tasted like gummies!
