If you have been to Disney World since its reopening, you have worn a mask on Disney property, which is a rule Disney has become very strict about enforcing. Now, Walt Disney World Resort has taken warnings one step further by sending Guests My Disney Experience app notifications while they are in any Disney World theme park.
Disney World has very strict mask rules, and they have been doing lots to make sure that all Guests are respecting and abiding by this new health and safety regulation. Now, thanks to Twitter user @Bioreconstruct, we can see that Disney will now be able to remind you about wearing a mask via your cell phone.
As you can see below, there are multiple notifications going to @Bioreconstruct’s My Disney Experience app saying, “Thank you for wearing your face covering! Together we can help promote heath and safety.”

This approach is slightly different to the other warnings heard at all four Florida Disney Parks. Disney’s signage and constant audio reminders warn Guests that they will actually be removed from the park if not properly wearing an approved mask, which as we can see below means that the mask must cover the Guest’s nose and mouth.
Disney has also banned neck gaiters and masks with valves.

If you need a refresher on how to properly wear a mask while on Disney World property, the rules are as follows:
Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) and Cast Members. Please bring your own face coverings and wear them at all times, except when dining or swimming. You may remove your face covering while actively eating or drinking, but you should be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distancing.
All face coverings (whether disposable or reusable) must:
- Be made with at least two layers of breathable material
- Fully cover the nose and mouth and secure under the chin
- Fit snugly but comfortably against the side of the face
- Be secured with ties or ear loops and allow the Guest to remain hands-free
At this time, based on guidance from health authorities, neck gaiters, open-chin triangle bandanas, and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any kind are not acceptable face coverings.
Costume masks are also not considered appropriate and are prohibited from being worn, in alignment with our existing rules.
The use of face coverings is not a substitute for physical distancing.
Note that according to the Disney World official website, all Guests must be properly masked and may only remove their mask when actively eating or drinking or in an approved rest station located with the Disney theme parks. The rules apply to all Disney World locations including Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, and all Disney World Resort hotels.
If Guests cannot comply with these rules, Disney is asking them to reschedule their visit to a later date. We strongly advise all visitors to look over Disney World’s mask and social distancing protocols prior to visiting.
Do you think people are abiding by the face covering rules when visiting Disney World?
