I perhaps think the parks will always remain robust and an extremely important aspect of Disney. I sort of see it as the proverbial “3-legged-stool” and that being the parks (and that includes resorts, DVC and so on), consumer products (online and stores), and then everything to do with “filmed” entertainment. They all prop up each other.
As for filmed entertainment, I really think this is not unlike when in the 1950’s Walt embraced television – theatrical films were still very important as well then. So to me this is Disney moving forward and seeing how they must cover all bases.
As for the parks, yes for the “moment” things are on pause which is to be expected and that has happened before when the economy tanked in the past. The reservation thing for the parks I also do not see lasting once we get past this because that would just hurt ticket sales and passholder sales. And that goes for all themeparks and even sports venues – folks like to be spontaneous and and for passholders that is especially true.
