Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has been in the news frequently lately due to its lengthy upcoming closure and exciting renovations. The Polynesian, a Deluxe Resort at Walt Disney World in Florida, is expected to reopen in Summer 2021 with brand new Moana themed hotel rooms.
Furthermore, monorail service at the Polynesian will be suspended for at least the next 8 months.
It is worth noting that the Disney Vacation Club’s Villas and overwater Bungalows will remain open throughout the impending temporary closure.

With all of these changes imminent, it seems that new merchandise would be the last thing on Disney’s mind. Today, however, the Polynesian put out a new ‘Olu the Turtle merchandise collection straight from Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii!
Today, Aulani announced that their phased reopening will begin November 1, so it is interesting timing for the Aulani Duffy & Friends character to show-up at Lake Buena Vista. Perhaps Disney is trying to clear-out Aulani merchandise they couldn’t sell during the Ko’Olina Resort’s temporary closure to make room for new products upon reopening.
A video by YouTube user To Disney and Beyond showcases the wide array of ‘Olu merchandise that visitors to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort can now purchase.

Guests can purchase adorable, brightly colored ‘Olu magnets…

…’Olu luggage tags…

…tiny ‘Olu plush toys…

…’Olu purses that look like they would be perfect for little girls…

…’Olu coin purses (note the authentic Aulani tag)…

…and larger ‘Olu plushes featuring his signature outfit and the Aulani logo! It appears that all of the ‘Olu the Turtle merchandise at the Polynesian can be purchased at BouTiki.
