Thank G*d We have already pushed back trip #6 for us from June 2020 to June 2021 but my daughter has 2 rules for June 2021 Ohana and character meet and greets. She knows I spend 20K on these trips and she wants my grandson to get hugs from the characters. If they do not have these we will push the trip to 2022 and since I retire in Dec of that year make it a retirement vacation.
Ken, when you spend that kind of money on a vacation you definitely need the full experience, Character meet and greets, parades, shows, fireworks and everything else. If you have to wait until 2022 it will be worth it but hopefully you don’t.
Hoping 2021 is back to normal. We will know more after November because sadly politics has played into this.
A lot of this also has to do with the fact Disney didn’t come to an agreement with the Union representing these cast members who play these character roles and stage performances. Disney didn’t want to agree to calls for safety protocol and sick time that the members were asking for (Ie- masks on stage/barriers In break areas ect.) The cast members were not agreeing to work without these arrangements. Disney canceled the shows and meet and greets when no agreement could be met.. Disney finally agreed to the terms recently, and that is why you will see these events and shows start to come back.
It is not a secret that the Democratic governors kept their states closed down because they did not want Trump to benefit from an improving economy right before the election.
