Hong Kong Disneyland to reopen soon, their statement:

“We welcome the government’s announcement to gradually relax the health and safety measures. Our reopening plan will follow the health authorities’ guidelines in a measured manner.”

See the tweet here–

This is great news out of Hong Kong Disneyland as they have already reopened once only to find they had shut down again. This second reopening will hopefully be the final one for Hong Kong Disneyland during this pandemic.

In a report from SCMP we see the new relaxed guidelines for Hong Kong,

Key points:

Four people will be allowed per table in restaurants, up from a cap of two, but the ban on dine-in services from 10pm to 5am remains unchanged
• The limit on public gatherings will be relaxed from a maximum of two to four people
• Reopening of premises includes mahjong parlours, most indoor and outdoor sports facilities, ice-skating rinks and museums
• Swimming pools and beaches remain closed to the public
• Hong Kong is in talks with 11 countries to form travel bubbles. They are: Australia, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Singapore, South Korea, Switzerland, Thailand and Vietnam
These changes show that the social distancing and safety guidelines are beginning to relax in Hong Kong, and Disney is clearly taking that as a sign that they can prepare a reopening plan and submit to the local health authorities.

We also reported earlier this week that Hong Kong Disneyland has been testing its fireworks show as the park was anticipating reopening soon and making preparations.  As well as the activity on Hong Kong Disneyland’s official YouTube channel, where they have been posting new trailers getting guests excited for the eventual return to the park.
It is clear that even though Hong Kong Disneyland remained closed, they never stopped working on ways to bring magic to their guests once they could open the gates again.
