Last Labor Day weekend, we saw that Downtown Disney crowds at the Disneyland resort were hitting capacity. The Disney eatery and shopping area had to limit park entry last weekend and temporarily shut it down the parking lot to enforce social distancing and keep to its limited capacity. And over the past few days, it’s looking like Downtown Disney is expecting similar crowds this weekend with warning Tweets being issued.

Yesterday evening @DisneylandToday let all Downtown Disney goers know that if you did not have a dining reservation you may not be able to be accommodated.

And just this morning a similar Tweet was released reminding Guests that Downtown Disney does indeed have a limited capacity. Visiting Guests should know that once the park hits capacity they will need to wait to enter the parking lot until there is space for them to enter.

Wildfires affect the air quality at Downtown Disney

One of the major differences between Labor Day weekend and this weekend is that the wildfire spread that is burning along the west coast has really picked up speed. We recently wrote about how the skies over Downtown Disney look like an orange glow. The below photo is from that article and it really shows you how strong the wildfires are affecting the air quality in the Disneyland Resort area in California.

And since then it seems that the air quality has only begun to get worse. California locals are now needing to wear a mask for more than just the pandemic, as breathing is becoming difficult for many locals.

Airnow.com has been tracking the air quality in California and it seems that most locations are listed as either unhealthy or very unhealthy. But despite this, it seems that Downtown Disney Guests are still ready to get to their dining reservations and do some shopping

Both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure remain closed for the time being.

So if you are headed to Downtown Disney this evening, be sure to arrive early to ensure you can enter and stay safe! All of us at ITM are sending our thoughts to those being impacted by the wildfires.

Will you be at Downtown Disney this evening? Let us know!
