In the wake of Josh D’Amaro’s announcement that 28,000 U.S. Cast Members would be laid off in the coming days, many Cast Members all over the world were worried about their own positions.

According to @DLPReport, the president of Disneyland Paris Resort, Natacha Rafalski, came out clarifying D’Amaro’s announcement. Specifically, the president reiterated which Cast Members the announcement was referring to.

@DLPReport states,

“Resort President Natacha Rafalski addressed the Disneyland Paris Cast this morning to clarify that the 28,000 Disney Parks layoffs announced yesterday only relate to US Cast Members. Disneyland Paris has already been taking measures to control costs.”

D’Amaro’s announcement did only state that they layoffs were affecting domestic employees, but many Cast Members at Disneyland Paris were pleased to see the clarification come from the DLP president.

Disneyland Paris reopened with the Walt Disney World Resort in July, but have had to take measures to keep costs low. For instance, we at Inside the Magic recently shared that Disney’s resort in Europe made the decision to re-close Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne, and extend the closure of the Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Sequoia Lodge. The Disneyland Hotel will now open on December 8, 2020, and Disney’s Sequoia Lodge will be reopened on May 1, 2021.

Disneyland Paris has also followed in Walt Disney World’s footsteps and shortened park hours due to low attendance.

@DLPReport shared the news on Twitter, stating “both Parks are switching to a 10 am – 6 pm operating day (+EMT) on September 14 for the foreseeable future. Disneyland Park will stay open a whole extra hour until 7 pm on Saturdays and Sundays.”
