Yesterday was a tough day for Disney Parks fans all over the United States. First, news broke that California Governor Gavin Newsom would be leaving Orange County (where the still-closed Disneyland Resort is located) in the state’s Red coronavirus tier — this means that, presumably, Guests are not much closer to being able to return to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

Then, it was announced that The Walt Disney Company would be laying off nearly 30,000 Cast Members at Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. This news shocked fans and Disney employees alike. Fortunately, the Disney community is ever-supportive and fans have rallied around Cast Members amid the massive round of layoffs.
Here, we take a look at some of the messages Disney Park lovers have been leaving for furloughed Cast Members on social media.
Instagram user @jmaruyama shared this heartfelt message:
Sad news today. My heart goes out to all the Disney cast members and their families affected by today’s announcement. These are unusual, difficult times and there are no easy solutions. I wish you all the best and hope to see you again in happier times. #Disneyland#WaltDisneyWorld#Disney#CastMembers
Another Instagram user, @KingdomMommies, shared an extremely sweet post that is sure to brighten any Cast Member’s day just a little bit! The touching tribute reads:
Disneyland is just a place without all the magic made by Cast Members. My heart goes out to all the CMs and their families who have been affected by yesterday’s news. It was truly heartbreaking. ? Please know that we stand by you and we thank you for all the magic you created. ✨ I honestly have never seen such enthusiasm and professionalism in a work place like Disney’s CMs’. Everything you have done has sure made an impact on someone’s life. A little kid somewhere is still telling their friends what you’ve done for them on that one memorable trip to Disneyland. ? I really hope when our economy picks back up that you can all return to the Parks so you can keep doing what you do best – Making Magic. ✨?

Thinking of all of the CM’s today (and every day). It’s heartbreaking to hear that 28,000 of our favorite people who bring the magic to us won’t be right now. We have to remember that we can bring the magic no matter where we are or what we’re doing.
