Baby Yoda

Want a little Saturday morning pick me up? Boy, do we have the perfect story for you!

The Force is strong with 5-year-old Carver from Portland, Oregon. Carver was on the hunt for the latest Baby Yoda (a.k.a. The Child) Star Wars toy from The Mandalorian series on Disney+. Both Carver and his grandmother were able to find the final ‘Baby Yoda’ but instead of keeping it for himself, Carver decided to gift The Child to the firefighters battling the tragic fires in Oregon.

Forest fires have been breaking out along the West Coast, hitting California and Oregon hardest. Firefighters are working tirelessly to put out these fires, and little Carver knew that. He donated Baby Yoda to the firefighters and Baby Yoda is now traveling with firefighters battling fires everywhere!

We first found the story on Instagram from @goodnew_movement:

“Here’s a friend for you in case you get lonely,” writes 5-year-old Carver to firefighters in a letter attached to the stuffed animal. Carver was with his grandmother at the store and bought the last Baby Yoda available—the 5-year-old thought firefighters could use it more than he could. Baby Yoda’s journey has been documented on the Facebook group “Baby Yoda Fights Fires” , and the stuffed animal has given a reason to smile in these tough times are fires rage on … and is a “source of light and ‘Force’ in the world,” Oregon Department of Forestry representative Marcus Kauffman said.

The Child helped fight the Riverside Fire on Tuesday, Sept. 15, the Lionshead Fire, and the Holiday Farm Fire on the Willamette National Forest. He is now in Canada!

Estacada News reported:

He’s been in photos with firefighters, medics, representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and members of the Oregon National Guard, to name just a few.

Disney fans everywhere are thanking Carver for his service and even hoping Jon Favreau and Pedro Pascal get a glimpse of Baby Yoda’s fire fighting travels!

It will be exciting to see where Baby Yoda heads to next, and with season 2 of The Mandalorian premiering on Disney+ in 4 days (October 30th, 2020), this good news proves the Star Wars spin-off shows influence is something that should continue for seasons to come.

All of us here at ITM would like to join Carver in thanking the firefighters battling the flames each and every day. We thank you for your service and hope Baby Yoda is giving you Bright Suns and rays of hope.
