Theater Owners Outraged Mulan

The problem is until theaters can reopen in both Los Angeles and New York, you will NOT see many major releases, as these two markets are required for movies to be shown in before any other markets (or at the same time) if they want to be eligible for Academy Awards. So, unless there is a rule change, don’t expect new movies to be released in theaters until both locations can open up a certain number of venues.

Why don’t disney just go out of business. It is slowly killing itself anyways.

Even if it is disappointment (??) that we’re not getting Mulan in theaters, I think we’ve ALL felt that way about big lobby displays, sooner or later.

I’ve always fantasized a nice big bonfire for those tentpole sets of six themed posters with one character each.

Are that many people really ready to go back to theaters. I would think it wouldn’t be cost effective yet. Plus a lot of areas aren’t allowing open food items to be sold yet, so there can’t be much money to make off concessions right now.

Mulan also will debut in theaters the same day in countries where Disney Plus hasn’t launched and where cinemas are actually open.

This article says the price is similar to seeing it in theaters. The price is $29.99. Where are you watching movies in a theater for $30?

I mean they were probably expecting two parents and a child for tickets. So it makes sense the cost will be higher than 11 dollars per rent if you care to see it early…

Dear world, you can blame us, the USA, for the delay & release on Disney+. IF ALL of us wore masks and practised social distancing from March on we would be in much better condition to reopen theaters. And when the vaccine is ready we might be able to go to the movies once again early 2021. But, knowing my fellow Americans, too many will not do as told and will not take the vaccine. If we’re lucky, there will be enough herd immunity that cases will drop and theaters can open. Y’all in the developed countries, Keep Calm and Carry On. Eventually Darwin’s survival of the fittest will prevail ?

What an inane thing to say. Do you really think that if people were better about wearing masks, the virus would just disappear? All these social distancing measures do are to slow the spread so as not to overwhelm hospitals before we attain herd immunity (whether through us all getting sick, or a vaccine). How would we be in a better place to open theaters just because a few more people wore a piece of cloth around their faces?

FYI, as a guy who has good friends living in Australia, South Africa, and Spain, I’ve been well informed that the US is not the only country where people are protesting the masks.

Why would I want to go to a movie theater when I could watch it at home in better quality?

Seems studios are finally catching in that streaming platforms are the way if the future.

This is a typical theater practice. We have to throw them away somehow. The bat is dramatic. But Definitely not news worthy. Come on folks.

AMC is owned by the Chinese so who cares if they ever open again.
