On opening day, one of the original pylon began to exhibit a crack rising from the base and continuing upward.
It was replaced.
A second on a bit later experienced a similar crack.
Excessive heat from the lights in the base of the fountain effected the material (poured plexiglas) that the Pylons were poured from.
I was responsible for recreating the Pylons in miniature.
I’ve worked with plastics like this for 30 years now and I can say without hesitation that these scratches, even deep ones, can be flamed / filled and polished out to where unless pointed out, no one will notice. I wouldn’t worry too much about it.

Doesn’t seem like it all was damaged AFTER installation. Some of the damage was from where it was hoisted.
