Downtown Disney restaurants are beginning to delay reopening following mandates from California Governor Gavin Newsom. We will continue to share updates as information is released, but here is what we know so far.
Ballast Point — the only brewery in Downtown Disney at the Disneyland Resort — has shared in a message to Inside the Magic that they will not be reopening their doors on July 9 per the update from Gov. Newsom. “We will not be opening on the 9th with the update from the governor,” the brewery stated.
Newsom’s latest update regarding the reopening of California states that all bars in Orange County must close, and all restaurants in Orange County must only provide outdoor seating — indoor operations must close.
This applies to the following counties:
– Contra Costa
– Fresno
– Glenn
– Imperial
– Kern
– Kings
– LA
– Merced
– Orange
– Riverside
– Sacramento
– San Bernardino
– San Joaquin
– Santa Barbara
– Santa Clara
– Solano
– Stanislaus
– Tulare
– Ventura— Gavin Newsom (@GavinNewsom) July 1, 2020
The brewery, bar, and restaurant had previously shared with us that they would be reopening the same day that Downtown Disney is scheduled to reopen, Thursday, July 9. Even though Ballast Point is often a can’t-miss dining location at Downtown Disney, they will not be able to open per the new guidelines released by the state of California.
A new reopening date for Ballast Point has not yet been publicly announced or shared with Inside the Magic.

We will continue to update this article as more information regarding the reopening of Downtown Disney becomes available. The latest information released states that Disney will move forward with the reopening of the shopping, dining, and entertainment district, but the restaurants reopening can only offer outdoor dining.
Although Disney has not released an official list of the businesses reopening at Downtown Disney on July 9, we have shared an article that includes all of the businesses that we have confirmed will reopen. We have continued to update this list as more information is released. You can read more here.
