Yes!! This is a must do whenever we visit. We went with friends last year and they would always skip it. We brought them on it and now it’s one of their favorites. It definitely needs to be remastered though. The 3D definitely needs to be updated.
Yes, I would love to see more songs and characters in Mickey’s Philharmagic and yes, the animation could use some updating. Also I would love it if they upgrade the Sunset Showcase Theater in DCA to make it more immersive.
Saw it in both WDW and DCA over the past year or so. The DCA projection is much sharper, more vivid. And they added projection effects to the *sides* of the theater that made the presentation much more enveloping. I don’t think they do those side effects at WDW. So a technological update at WDW would be most welcome.
In terms of contents, I like your ideas very much. Why not two versions of the show, the existing one — plus a new mix of Donald misadventures — both running in repertory…?
This attraction would work really well with random sequences, like how Star Tours is now done. This would make the attraction more repeatable in order to see different versions with different sequences mixed in. This would also allow for seasonal sequences to be added during certain times of year, like “Nightmare Before Christmas” around Halloween.
And because everybody loves Splash Mountain so much, they should give everybody more of what they love by adding a whole bunch of Zip-a-de-doo-dah Laughing Place How D’you Do good ol’ Song Of The South sequences.
Ha! Think of the fun! Donald could be dressed as an ol’ timey plantation owner who gets caught in a tar baby. Why the whole shenanigans could ends with Donald, still stuck and messy, landing in the middle of Princess & the Frog. And Tiana could smile and go, “How appropriate!”
What a great idea! Except let’s make goofy the plantation owner and donald and his nephews the employees and part of the story line could be huey, dewey, and louie’s quest in finding out who their father is . . . . I mean if we’re gonna do this, let’s make it accurate!
I love the music as is, but what the hey, some change-up wouldn’t be all bad. What I’d really love to see is a major update of the 3D tech so that the experience is even more immersive!
They definitely should update it. There are plenty of movies they can pick from. My granddaughter doesn’t want to go on it anymore, says she saw it before and would rather go on something else. I like it and if there was a way to have 2 different ones somehow that would be great.
This 3-D movie has annoyed me ever since I first saw it, for three reasons. First, that it ISN’T the Mickey Mouse Revue, one of my all-time favorite MK shows. Second, 3-D movies are old-fashioned and too commonplace. Third, that THIS FILM IS OUT OF FOCUS!!! I thought this is why you wanted it “remastered.” With Mickey’s 100th birthday coming up in 2028 it would be marvelous to bring back the Revue, with some all new scenes featuring songs you mentioned, plus others. Best of all, the stage would be filled with scores of wonderful Audio- Animatronics figures. Philharmagic, on the other hand, has just one- of Donald’s BUTT!
It seems like a pretty awesome 3-D film attraction and I think the film should be upgraded to 4K for Walt Disney World, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Tokyo Disneyland and I also think there should some rotational Philharmagic films with different segments and possible story combinations just like STAR TOURS: The Adventures Continue like a Walt Disney World 50th anniversary edition with segments themed to Walt Disney World attractions like It’s a Small World, Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, The Enchanted Tiki Room, The Country Bear Jamboree, Splash Mountain, and its extinct opening-day predecessor for the finale with lots of characters!

Meanwhile, veteran Disney animator and Mickey expert Andreas Deja was on hand to give guidance. Theres a lot of drawing thats gone on and its funny how there are many traditional skills that go into making this type of CG movie, Marsden explained. And when scenes come back to us, Andreas helps draw notesto make sure that Mickeys eyes are following Donald or his posture needs to be more depressed or his body should be in a certain pose, and the best way to do that is always to draw. So Andreas has been trying to make sure that things are the way we know Mickey.

All of those ideas are great… I also think they should add Moana, and The Three Caballeros

I love the PhilHarmagic show but I like this idea a lot. Keep the original but have several other versions so you don’t know which show you may see.
