It would need to be a refundable credit to incentifize low-mid income families; which continue to financially suffer more and for longer periods during times like these.

I don’t take vacations like that simply because I cannot afford that expense. Even if I could afford to vacation with airfare and hotel stays I wouldn’t be going to a potentially crowded area. Covid-19 hasn’t been eliminated and a vaccine hasn’t been made available. Truthfully, I just see this as money grabbing using Congress and US taxpayer dollars.

This would be a GREAT IDEA! I’ve already been on one trip totaling about 3k and potentially have two more Sept and December! Getting up to 4K for half of those expenses should be easy to achieve!
@Miles: How is it money grabbing if it’s a Tax Credit? Only tax grabbing is Sales tax between the money for the flight in your State and the sales tax in the State you visit! If anything you are helping the states not the Federal Gov’t…Vaccine? Yes there is no vaccine, as well as no facts about this Covid so not sure where you are going with this. Somehow I hear it sounds like the vaccine would also be a immediate problem solver. Don’t rely on that information either that you mentioned.
