Ah, the island life. Picture palm trees swaying, the smell of blooming hibiscus flowers, and a drink in your hand (all while sitting poolside at Aulani, of course!)

If there’s no trip to Disney’s Hawaiian property in your immediate future, don’t fret. We’re here with not one, but two, Aulani mixed drink recipes that you can make at home. It’s time to dress up in your best beachwear, light a tropical candle, and get to work with your cocktail shaker!

Tropical Mai Tai Cocktail (Courtesy of Disney)

First up is the Tropical Mai Tai cocktail, an island staple that is available at multiple Aulani locations. You can enjoy this exact Mai Tai at The `Olelo Room, Off the Hook, and Wailana Pool Bar! Here, Aulani Cast Member Keola walks you through how to make this tropical beverage in your own kitchen.

What You Need:

  • 1/2 ounce Odwalla Fresh Lime Juice (or preferred brand)
  • 2 ounces Pineapple Juice
  • 1/2 ounce Monin Orgeat Syrup (or preferred brand)
  • 1 ounce Old Lahaina Silver Rum (or preferred brand)
  • 1/2 ounce BOLS Orange Curaçao (or preferred brand)
  • 1 ounce Myer’s Original Dark Rum (float)
  • Thin pineapple half-moon and a layer of FOMZ Passionfruit Mango foam, for garnish

What You Do:

  1. Pour lime juice, pineapple juice, Old Lahaina Silver Rum, Orange Curaçao, and Orgeat syrup in mixing glass; fill with ice and shake for 30 seconds.
  2. Strain into tall glass over fresh ice and add float of Myer’s Original Dark Rum and layer of FOMZ Passionfruit Mango foam; garnish with a thin pineapple half-moon.

Enjoy!

Blue Hawaiian Cocktail (Courtesy of Disney)

Keola returns in this Disney cocktail tutorial, in which he teaches viewers to make a classic Blue Hawaiian. This iconic island drink is also made onsite at The `Olelo Room, Off the Hook, and Wailana Pool Bar.

Fun fact: This classic drink was invented by famed Hilton Hawaiian bartender, Harry Yee, in 1957 when a BOLS Blue Curaçao representative asked him to create a beverage that showcased the brand’s bright blue color.

What You Need:

  • 1 ounce House-made Sweet & Sour
  • 2 ounces Pineapple Juice
  • 1 ounce Old Lahaina Light Rum (or preferred brand)
  • 1 ounce Ocean Vodka (or preferred brand)
  • 1/2 ounce BOLS Blue Curaçao (or preferred brand)
  • Pineapple wedge and pineapple leaf, for garnish

What You Do:

  1. Pour sweet & sour, pineapple juice, rum and Blue Curaçao in mixing glass; fill with ice and shake for 30 seconds.
  2. Pour into tall glass; garnish with pineapple wedge and pineapple leaf.

Enjoy! You can even substitute coconut rum for a unique flavor.
