I think they are going to wait to see if this is actually just a flu strain so things could go back to normal…. most states are still in lockdown no way in no way out enough! We want to stay positive posting articles that are going to start anything but that isn’t positive! No one knows but knowing Disney like the world going back to normal soon is what we all want but we just do not know but its better that! I rather go hug my daughter i have seen death and it makes me glad to be alive i see all thats going on and then people are worried about a theme park! Even managers i know whom are furloughed are grateful to be safe and w family!

Mark haven’t you already said you have a “friend in upper management” that says the parks won’t open until January 2021 at the earliest? Nobody knows when the parks will reopen. Any dates at this point are pure guesses and not facts.

      1. Jackie

Yes hes said that but its also true that i am sure cms whom never get much time for reality working at the parks while yes they want to go back to wrk… are enjoying time w their loved ones bc life is short and this virus proves it! Also if they wait for a vaccine that wont come or answers like the rest of world to be safe it might be next yr! I for one do not care bc i am not rushing in like the nuts whom have no lives! I am not afraid of some bat flu after all i been through and i know reading comments neither is mark but i am surely afraid of mass chaos crowds no one has a clue except the fans that are ready to bang down a gate!

Bob should stop worrying about the money and hug his family and be grateful hes alive! Bc its still really bad here in cali! And my friend is in the military she said this is far from over…

I hope they stay closed until all is safe, no need to push luck!
I do have a question, if anyone knows I’d appreciate it. We bought tickets in December for a girls trip with my daughter and granddaughters for the beginning of April. We know how that went. So now we are planning end if September through October 3. BUT….what if they still arent open? Do we lose our ticket purchases?
Thank you and please stay safe!

    1. Josh

      Hi Melody,

We were supposed to go tomorrow actually for a friends wedding on Saturday, this has since been postponed until October! They added an expiration to our tickets until December 15th. I called last week and mentioned that because our trip has been shifted to October now and that we likely will not be able to come for the full week like we were planning and I requested a refund. She said that the request would be forwarded to management. I am still questioning if the parks will be open in October, so I am waiting to re-purchase tickets until we get closer to the date. You may want to call and see what your options are, I would assume at some point Disney will stop issuing refunds and will just continue to stretch expiration dates.

      1. Melody Garcia

        Hi Josh!
Thank you, I appreciate the reply. I dont mind having the tickets be postponed as eventually we’ll get to go but I just don’t want to lose out on what we have purchased already. Do you have a number I could call?

    2. Rebel Ravenclaw

As per announcement via dvc and what they told AP they are extending tickets for however long they go out…even prior as long as the tickets werent used they are good for forever i guess but once you use it say like once but you have 2 extra days or something those days will need to be used within the yr i hope that helps! And i agree with you no need to rush lets be safe!

Yes they need to use caution but before they go to extreme they need to use common sense too. What’s the point in placing people 6′ apart on rides, resturants etc when people are mingling on walkways. Just get everyone to sign waiver that they enter park at their own risk and will not hold Disney responsible. Virus is not airborne so use common sense and don’t live in fear.

    1. Viruses are airborne but i agree theres many things out there and we still didnt live in fear bc things could kill you just as easily! Knock on wood as the saying goes but one could get hit by a car tomm are they going to blame that on corona… or for instance as i keep saying my parents werent old and healthy they died of common colds. My sister was 16 and bc of faults in the medical system whom couldnt test her for cancer died from it! Also my daughter has breathing problems due to bad allergies when i come back to the parks do not stare and call me or anyone whom has allergies bad parents or horrible human beings bc allergies can not get you sick and are not a reason to stay home!

    2. Cindy Caine

I rather sign a agreement then not go or wear a mask that btw on the news since this started said it does nothing for you thats why drs and nurses get sick! Its also just the flu reports out of effected states are saying they are testing it! Also have you tried to honestly talk in a mask forget six ft apart and have a conversation let alone ask a cm where something is????? No tourist has that patience! Forget florida is 115 in the shade in the summer it also rains every afternoon and and hurricane season is on alot of our minds bc its supose to be really bad! I think thats going to affect us more esp if they extend stay at home more than when is the theme parks going to reopen… or better yet many are parents they like somewhere for their kids to go like school before they can go back to wrk! I know a few cms whom are like even if parks reopen what about my kids??? This isnt the good old days before 9/11 were kids could just wander wo security questioning it!

I think they already have the answer to contact tracing / the Magic Band! How many times has everyone gone on a ride only to have a picture of them on that ride show up in the pictures on their phone? The Magic Band is the answer! I wish we had them in our every day lives!

I read somewhere that someone suggested that Disney just close up their parks for good and let it be “just one of those things that people can’t enjoy anymore because safety and health”, and I think they have a point. I’ve always said that Disney has implied that they no longer want poor people visiting their park, and now with COVID-19 lurking around, they can’t have anyone visiting their park.

  7. Lisa Chandler

I think this comes down to one’s personal choice. If you are afraid to be where there are large crowds, then don’t go. If you choose to wear a face mask and/or gloves, then wear them. Disney has always kept their parks extremely clean, so I am not worried for them to reopen, and I hope they consider re-opening soon!

I do not know about soon as i tell my kid wants vs needs…. yes disney supports alot of jobs they arent as a essential as a teacher a dr (bc are many not working only the essential drs) businesses etc. But i do agree w you it all should be voluntary but then do not look at the other person werid when they do it! Bc all this could be a mute pt by the time it opens! Right now i heard from a friend in ny whom had it they are testing not only for a cure but maybe to see if its related to the mutated flu strain that ran loose early in the yr bc if its the flu it will help people panic less! I honestly think people panic too much but there are other things that could kill you! Heart attacks still happen cancer still happens colds still happen TB is still there etc we need to live and get out but in do time!

  8. Sheila

The problem is also hand sanitizing, there are hundreds of people that don’t wash there hands after using the bathroom and just walk out who is controlling that!

    1. Rebel Orange Bird

Common sense!!! Just bc the person standing next you might have it doesnt mean thats under Disney control! Your putting alot on Disney!

      1. Melody Garcia

Agreed! People needs to be the responsible ones and make sure they aren’t sick before going! Common sense ??‍♀️

  9. Vanessa

Open up. Use all your safegards, but just open up. It will be fine if everyone does their part, get this state rolling. The essential workers, companies are doing it, you can too. You are the giants of the world!!

    1. Rebel Porg

The state is still closed and disney staying closed in may i am sorry but disney furloughed cm so tech there is no one to be there! Needs vs wants people its like your all children! Disney is 4 parks and thats just the parks! I was there before this nightmare and i want to live my life too and not live in reality at the parks like i did then when people were there having fun not even caring as you should on vacation! But we need to be in reality to open the parks! Its not opening tomorrow!

  10. Rebel Ravenclaw

Hmmmm last i checked theres still a hold on gatherings over 10 people how is anything happening… once this starts its fine! Disney doesnt have the right to go against LAWS!

    1. Harley

And iger wasnt the one in charge and the president nor the govenor! Weather he wants to be president or not still doesnt give him the authority to override laws your right!

When to use “Whom” vs “Who”? Try this simple trick: If you can replace the word with “he”’ or “’she,” use who. If you can replace it with “him” or “her,” use whom. Who should be used to refer to the subject of a sentence. Whom should be used to refer to the object of a verb or preposition.

I don’t think it will open until we get a vaccine. You’re looking at June 2021 Tom K USAF veteran

    1. Mark

Your looking for a vaccine thats cute! If this is relsted to the flu which is what is being looked into all your getting is a booster and desling w it! Or nothing bc life moves on like it did after ebola zika swine flu and the lot none of those have vaccines life was just more inportant and orople moved on like they will now they are waiting so they do not look stupid N override state laws or country wide laws which they though a private company still have to abide by! I will give ya social distancing will give them a quick problem limits will see people lining up at guest relations till they give in but a vaccine… honestly have you gone to the parks before?! You could probably catch way more than corona! My kid has horrible allergies flower and garden is the time of the yr were its most beautiful at epcot bc of it we can not go it gets my kid sick! I am not anti vaxx in any way but common sense in thinking things through!

I’ve been to Disney World about 25 times since 1971. I lived in Florida. I can wait 2 or 3 years. I would rather golf.

  14. Amanda

Unless I missed it, there was nothing about lowering the amount of people they cram into the parks? What good does taking my temperature do when the parks is packed?

    1. Julie

You missed it… phase one of opening theme parks in Florida based on the task forces that is working with the Florida governor to open the theme parks has a recommendation stipulating parks open at 50% capacity. They had the meeting available to be watched by the public.

      1. Jackie

You also missed thats not happening anywhere until level 3 thats 3-5 months away!

  15. check their temp. as they park before they get to the bag checks. so their not in a crowd to chance spreading anything. at resorts. ckeck temps. at checkins and everyday their there. and random checks throughout the park in case people who don’t like the idea sneeks through the check points at times. i know you’s will have the employees under control. but the people will be a differant story. there are those who won’t care about anyone else. and the children should be the main concern. because some of them won’t have the strong emuine system like adults. so concern for this and respect of anyone who goes to the park should be the things to uphold

  16. John

Disney lays off 28k BUT in China can’t since all Disney employees in China are union members as protected by Chinese communist party!
