Though we do not yet have confirmation or a statement from The Walt Disney Company, it is currently being reported that select Disney Parks Cast Members are being informed of the two new cases. It is also being reported that the two new cases are from maintenance workers who were part of the same nighttime maintenance team as the first case reported on March 9. No other details have been released. However, French news source Le Parisien continues to report on the coronavirus situation in Paris and Disneyland Paris, and The Sun U.K. shared the news of the two new coronavirus cases even though Disneyland Paris hasn’t yet release a statement.
Disneyland Paris Increases Sanitation Procedures and Speaks Out Regarding Coronavirus
Despite the initial confirmed case, as well as these two new possible cases of coronavirus, Disneyland Paris has kept its doors open to guests who wish to visit the Disney Parks. However, Disneyland Paris has been making changes to its theme park by increasing hand gel provided to the guests visiting the theme park as well as informing the guests visiting the theme park to keep their distance while waiting in the queue for rides.
“We have been notified that a cast member who works backstage and does not have contact with guests has tested positive and is receiving treatment”, a Disney Parks spokesperson stated. “We have been in regular contact with the local health authorities and continue to implement preventive measures in line with their recommendations to help protect our guests and cast members.”
We also recently reported that Disneyland Paris has just increased turnover of cutlery in the restaurants, has eliminated the “single rider” queues, and has made changes to the Disney Character meet and greets.
