Disney Dining Guide

Whether you have dined at Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue before or if on your next vacation, it will be your first time, this Fort Wilderness Campground dining experience is guaranteed to make new memories for the entire family.

But, even if you have had the opportunity to experience this rootin’ tootin’ time at Fort Wilderness in the past, be sure to go back and visit this Disney dining location time and time again. Why you may ask? Well, what many guests don’t realize is, and I promise you, that the Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue will be an entirely new experience each and every time you go.

Disney guests who join the Pioneer Hall players will be immersed in a wild west themed dinner show for 2 hours. From Wild West dancing to entertaining singing to pure comedy with corny jokes, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is guaranteed to leave you fully satisfied.

But the best part is, even though the menu is the same (fried chicken, mashed potatoes, strawberry shortcake and all the fixin’s), the drinks are the same (bottomless sangria, beer, wine, and soft drinks), and the script for the show is the same (with the corny jokes and all), each and every time you visit, it will be an entirely new experience.

The Show Itself

One of the best things about the Fort Wilderness Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue is the cast. You can just tell that the actors are like one big family (I mean, they work together three times per night, every single night, so it only makes sense they all get along). But, especially at the later shows, you can also imagine they get a bit tired, meaning they get a bit silly.

Every single time I go to Hoop-Dee-Doo, I opt for the 8:30 pm showing and every single time I have experienced the actors making each other laugh, breaking character a bit, and going off-script — Making for an even better and one-of-a-kind experience.

So whenever Claire de Lune, Johnny Ringo, Dolly Drew, Six Bits Slocum, Flora Long and Jim Handy all hit the stage, stay on the edge of your seat because you never know what shenanigans these guys will bring.

The Special Appearances

If you have dined at Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, I’m sure you remember Pioneer Hall players pulling people from the audience to go up on stage and take part in the Davy Crocket portion of the show.

Well, as you can imagine, this entire portion of the show, though as a script, is going to be different depending on the audience members. Some members may get into it a bit more than others, making for a unique experience each and every time you visit the Pioneer Hall.

I have dined at Hoop-Dee-Doo at Fort Wilderness more times than I can count, but it was only just recently that finally someone in my party was selected to go up on stage (funny enough, it was his first time ever at Hoop-Dee-Doo).  Needless to say, this dining experience has stuck with me ever since and was hands down, one of my all-time favorite memories at Walt Disney World.

The Celebrations

Whether you are celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, a graduation, or something else — The Pioneer Hall players are sure to make your day special and unique. Without spoiling too much, let’s just say — Don’t be shy and raise those hands high so you get to experience something a bit more special on your big day.

The Food

Though, as I mentioned before, the menu is the same every time you visit — Fried chicken, fall off the bone pork ribs, corn, baked beans, mashed potatoes, and for dessert — strawberry shortcake, but it doesn’t matter if this portion of the experience remains the same because it is finger-lickin’ delicious!

And if you are a vegetarian or vegan, be sure to mention it to your waiter or waitress because the chef will accommodate for your special diet!

Final Thoughts

Regardless if you have been to this Disney dining location before in the past, I highly recommend making it back sometime soon. This is one of my all time favorite dining locations on Walt Disney World property simply because no matter how often you go, and no matter where you are seated, it is a different experience each and every time.

For those of you wondering, Hoop-Dee-Doo is currently accepting the Disney Dining Plan. You can visit the official Walt Disney World website for more information.
