Jake LLoyd endured tortured bullying by his classmates who were jealous of his fame. I think he did a great job as the first Anakin Skywalker. However, The demands of fame was too much for such a young guy and later on lead him to a rough life. Unfortunately, while being in Jail he was diagnosed with one of the most severe mental illnesses: schizophrenia. This one in particular can be controled with the proper medication and support from family. My brother who’s still alive and grandma who passed both have this.
That’s awful, I had issues with that film but in all honesty there were some really good points. Ewan as Obi Wan was a fantastic call. Liam Neeson is always quality. Natalie Portman was also fantastic. In honesty the best thing about it was Jake Lloyd as Anakin, I thought he was fantastic. Complex, self aware, intelligent, turmoiled, intuitive. I thought the way he interacted with Padme was great, even considering the age gap. And crucially you could see the makings of him being ripe for the emperor to get his claws into to twist and mislead.
The only reason I found this article is because I was wondering if there was any chance of him ever coming back as Anakin ?
Comments for Statement Released From Family On Health Of “Star Wars” Actor Jake Lloyd

Please don’t compare Lloyd, who was 9-10 at the time TPM was released, to the adult actors who have also been “bullied”.

I’m not a Star Wars fan but what the heck did the fans do to him at that age? That poor kid/guy. How sad?

Why not? He was bullied and so was Ahmed and Tran. Ahmed contemplated suicide at one point in time. Apparently Jake didn’t fare that well either.
