Credit: WBWarner Bros. announced today that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is coming to New York City in Summer 2020! It will be the world’s first-ever official flagship store for all things Harry Potter. Here are the specs:
- “Where is it going to be?” In the iconic Flatiron building at 935 Broadway.
- “How big is it really going to be?” The store will take up three floors and over 20,000 sq. ft.
- “What’s it going to look like?” Well, that’s still being worked out, but we have concept art of what the street view will look like. You can see those concepts here:
The First-Ever Harry Potter Flagship Store in New York
In a press release issued today, it states:
Warner Bros. today announced that it will open the first official Harry Potter flagship store in the heart of New York City next to the iconic Flatiron building at 935 Broadway.
Opening in Summer 2020, the store will house the largest collection of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts products in the world under one roof with everything from personalised robes and Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans to a brand-new range of house wands with a design exclusive to the New York location.
Spanning three floors and over 20,000 sq. ft., the space will provide fans with a number of exciting retail experiences that evoke the magic of the Wizarding World.
Senior Vice President Worldwide, Tours and Retail, Warner Bros., Sarah Roots spoke about how the store will provide an innovative and immersive shopping experience that every wannabe witch or wizard will need to check out. She said:
“This will be the largest dedicated Harry Potter store in the world and will become a must-visit fan destination where Harry Potter enthusiasts can engage with interactive experiences and numerous photo opportunities as they step into the magic.”
Roots went on to praise New York City as the perfect location.
You can find the store in the Flatiron building this summer. No exact opening date has been set yet.
