We have recently come across several guest reports of changes happening to the Disney Dining Plan credit distribution between kids and adult dining credits.
We reached out to Disney to confirm the rumored changes and they replied by sharing this with us: “We have not received any notifications of that type regarding the current dining plan credits process being updated or modified.”
However, guests on the Disboards are sharing screenshots of the change that appears to be live. See the pictures shared below:

Previously, adult and children dining credits were lumped together, allowing guests to order adult meals for anyone in the party. Guests would often share meals this way, which would help spread out the use of the credits. With this new change, guests will have to stick to kids meals for the kids in the party, and adult meals for the adults, as the Dining Plan rules are being enforced with this change.
We just reported about the release of the popular Free-Dining discount package that Disney just announced for 2020. With this special offer, guests can take advantage of adding the dining plan to their vacation package at no additional price.

This enticing deal can provide great savings! Although we do recommend crunching numbers as often guests end up paying rack room rates with this offer, offsetting any actual savings. Alternately, a room discount package, with self-budgeted meals, can be a better deal. So be sure to discuss with your travel agent and get quotes for both options!
Disney’s Dining Plans provide you the convenience of pre-paying for most of your meals, so you can enjoy your food without having to worry about the budget. And with the Dining plan you can enjoy a drink with each meal, plus yummy snacks and an included resort rapid refill mug. And with so many tasty and exciting dining options at the Walt Disney World Resort, planning your dining is part of the fun!
