Blizzard Beach Water Park at Walt Disney World had previously announced it would be closed for an extended refurbishment last September. The initial refurbishment was set to end on January 13, 2020, but according to the official Walt Disney World website, the refurbishment is now extended.
The Blizzard Beach refurbishment is now set to end on January 18, with the water park reopening to Disney guests on January 19.
The official Disney statement reads:
As part of our continuing efforts to exceed the expectations of our Guests, Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is currently closed for enhancements. Please check back here for updates and information about when it will reopen. During this time, please visit Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.
Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach close every year during the winter months for refurbishment during low peak season, however, Disney said that this refurbishment will include “additional refurbishment work and enhancements” on top of the normal refurb work.
