It’s the most magical time of the year at Walt Disney World and apart from being at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom, it’s fair to say that the International Festival of the Holidays at Epcot is about as Christmassy as you can get.
The Candlelight Processional is a huge part of the holiday experience at Walt Disney World and it’s also a great opportunity to see one of your favorite celebrities at the park. Disney has just announced a couple of changes to the lineup that you should be aware of if you’re planning on going to Epcot during the holidays.
Both Chita Rivera and Warwick Davis are no longer on the schedule and have been replaced by Alton Fitzgerald White during December 11-12 and Geena Davis on December 19-21.
To Disney fans, Alton Fitzgerald is perhaps best known for his record-breaking 4,308 performances on stage as Mufasa in the Lion King musical and of course, we all know Geena Davis for her years of movie work including roles in The Fly, Beetlejuice and famously, Thelma & Louise.
While it’s a shame to see celebrities replaced, at least Disney has found some great replacements with short notice. If you’ve never had the pleasure of visiting the Candlelight Processional before, it combines a celebrity narrator with a live orchestra and choir in a wonderful retelling of the traditional Christmas story.
