I hate to be THAT guy, but this is something that’s been acknowledged about Disney animation for years. There’s no harm in it, if modern Disney can remake movies with the same characters, music and story, then borrowing the same animation for different movies and characters should be accepted too. I was reading the other day about the reusing of old animation, and it was a plausible reason, I can’t recall it right now, but it’s never detracted my enjoyment of them.

Exactly, it’s not a secret at all and has never had an impact on my enjoyment of the films.

i believe i read once somewhere the budget at the time of robin hood was extremely low, but they were able to make it work by reusing old animation and not hiring new animators. it’s one of my favorite movies so i think they made it work just fine. not a big deal.

No reason why it should ruin anyone’s enjoyment of the films, it’s nothing new and/or different. People seldom notice it (or are bothered by it) unless it’s pointed out and offense is coaxed. Even in live action films there are obvious similarities in scenes from movie to movie particularly within the same studio or by the same director.

I am both fascinated and disappointed by knowing thsy Diz cheated to this extent in its animated features. I can sort of understand it being done after Walt had passed, but did he know about it being done while he was alive? That scene from Sleeping Beauty makes me wonder! Was he too immersed on DL projects by that time? Did he not care that corners were being cut back then?
